I'm super surprised you got the strikes! The thing that made a difference for me for how much it nudges me to touch the steering wheel is, if you change the volume on the wheel when it gives you the blue notification, that counts as being attentive. Sometimes the slight pressure on the wheel just doesn't seem to get noticed by the car. So I just find rolling up the volume, or changing the travel speed fixes it! That said, I don't have FSD, so maybe that's not the case for FSD.

I also do the volume or increase the speed by 1 (the down) usually enough that the Tesla Shake. True, not perfect, and probably not worth it at this point -

I have a good friend who is involved in writing self driving software for cars. He says that the huge hurdle for self driving cars is the inability for the software to fully understand the inconsistent environmental elements (like dogs running out in front of cars, animals, people on bikes on the shoulder or even something like unforeseen road hazards). He tells me that when the software encounters these things it doesn’t understand why they are present.

Thanks for sharing your experience in detail, Appreciate it! FSD gets disabled for the trip if you press on gas pedal to go faster than 90 or 95mph while FSD is enabled. Probably a safety redundancy. I’ve been using FSD for a few years on a daily basis now and dint get a single strike yet. From what i understand, you dont get a strike if you respond messages immediately. Did you get a strike even when you did? That would not be a pleasant experience.

Yeah, I heard that but I was actually doing I think 80 miles an hour. The first strike I got because I really didn’t understand how to make the messages go away, I didn’t know what it was looking for and the one I got when I was leaning was super bogus. But yeah, this thing is awesome
