Amazing video. Thank you so much for being very clear in your details and making the process easy to follow and throwing in a lot of relevant tips. Appreciate it.
Nice fix man! Your braver than me, I just made a service appointment today. They are coming to replace both check straps for free in a couple of days. It’s covered under my 4 year 50k miles warranty. I have a 2022 model 3
it turns out to be a alignment issue, if you unbolt the 13mm and then the 2x 10mm and push it all the way up or down and then tighten the 13mm while holding it down/up and then the 2 10mm it should fix the issue as well
I just posted a youtube video on how to fix this without buying a new check strap and without taking the door apart.... Chances are very likely that this noise will return.
Ideally no need to change, loose a bolt attached to frame, push slightly strap down and while in this position tight the bolt. Original strap is much better and it's a slight adjustment which can help eliminate the noise. Save your $$$
@WilliamPatrickFrye i just did this adjustment for front 2 doors. Over a month now and no noise when closing. Slight hit and trial but worth the effort
