When did the old model become irrelevant, I had thought it was still a very good EV.

The indicators are very easy to use and remember. I drove an M3 for the first time last week and was using this with no issues within 10 minutes and I have been driving cars and trucks for 40 years with stalks. People are over thinking this function and it becomes second nature very quickly.
@WhichEV
@WhichEV 2 месяца назад
We got used to it too but some people really hate it. BMW drivers strangely don't see the problem.
@Petelmrg
@Petelmrg 6 месяцев назад
I like my M3 BECAUSE it is a saloon; hatchbacks are a pain for everyday use as you freeze everyone to death when you've got the tailgate open; I started driving when ice cars still had chokes and no indicators, I'm sure I'll soon adapt to a slightly different indicator control.
@WhichEV
@WhichEV 6 месяцев назад
It just makes all that massive boot space harder to use. We are speaking here from the experience of taking kids to and from university in a Model 3. LOADS of space, but you can't always put things in it because the boot door is narrow. There's space in the back for a bike, but you can't get it in... actually just had a brainwave about that. ;)

- nickel and diming various tech - interior has some good new features - facelift was a must, actually makes old Model 3 / Model Y look severely outdated (those are not selling even now) - with Tesla you can subtract 10% of range. - Cynertruck with sililar charging solution is apparently not charging that fast. "30% quieter" means -1 dB. 30% quieter?
@GDM22

Great you like the look of the new one, I wonder how much of that is it just being new, severely outdated is a stretch given the comparatively minimal changes of the new model.

I find it amusing that folks can’t understand how much better a stalkless design is. For gawds sake it will take at most 5-10 minutes to get use to it and also memorize how to turn on/off the turn indicates without having to look at the buttons. In five years all cars will have lost their stalks. They are about as necessary as an appendix.
@WhichEV
@WhichEV 6 месяцев назад
You're American, right? You don't have roundabouts much. In the UK, they're all the over the place and you have to hit the indicators with the wheel turned. This isn't so easy with buttons on the wheel as it is with stalks.

@ma6netho
@ma6netho 6 месяцев назад
Yes, they will lose lots of sales by saving a fiew bucks dropping the stalks, i use the left one many times when shanging from high beam to low in the dark on narrow road to see better meeting cars coming around the corner, and fiddling with the the screen shanging from going forward and reverse is a lot slower. Blinking out of roundabouts is very difficult with no stalk.
