WhichEV aims to deliver everything you need to know about your next electric vehicle. We do that through a combination of independent news, reviews, buying guides, expert advice and recommendations.
As well as guides to buying cars, commercial vehicles and chargers, we will also expand our range of articles to include the methods of energy generation as well as detailed analysis of tyres, in-car audio systems and much more.
Our opinions are not for sale and our editorial staff work completely separately from our publishing team. When you see a review and recommendation on WhichEV, you can be certain that it was driven solely by our independent testing.
BMW keep getting stingier, over the years the release buttons for the rear seats have disappeared, the adjustable bolsters on the sports seat first disappeared from the passenger seat also I see now the driver’s as well, the essential for me adjustable lumbar is now only on the driver’s seat, oh and worst of all most of the buttons and rotary controller have been deleted from the dash. The latest model feels like a cheaper car than the one before and if I needed a bigger car I would have got an X3 but I live in an old street with narrow pavements and on street parking where every cm counts.
Cara with character are becoming ever more important given how soulless and clinical EVs can be. It looks hopefully fiat are continuing to make fun EVs.
Sort of a shame that fiat have been reduced to making variants of the 500. Having said that the 500e really hits it out of the park looks wise for me.

The smaller boot space of the Premium and Brabus is due to the Beats sub woofer in the lower compartment. It's worth it though, the sound is really good. The lid of the trunk actually fits into the lower compartment, you don't have to leave it behind. I actually have the exact car, including colour ;)
@@WhichEV simply great. After 10.000 km i still have smile on my face when i get in. I need it for my commute and i have never arrived more relaxed at work or at home than with this. I actually started listening to classical music again thanks to the soundsystem and the quiet ride.
Hands down, the best review of this car i have seen, you focussed on all the little things that really add value for a prospective buyer of this car. And for context i have watched at least 10 long t erm reviews, well done Sir.
We are not looking for a fast car like the Tesla, but one that is spacious, drives softly/relaxed and gives you a good range, that is important. Can't wait for the bigger brother the 2024 5008 that looks even better.
I might be wrong, but looking at the components in the matt-e and the wall charger, aren't you doubling up on the pen fault protection and RCD devices? Is this OK? And do you put the load management clamp to the matt-e or the charger?
My only issues with EVs is that they dont cruise easily at 80mph on the motorway without draining the battery massively. How many times do you see a 400bhp Tesla going along the motorway at 72mph, the driver trying to eake out as much range as possible?
