It's a shame the installer didnt go for the hidden cable look as you had the wall space to make that Hypervolt a floating unit on the wall which gives a clean finish look.

The Tesla gen 3 is now a great unit. Looks amazing and has many new safety features. It’s a smart charge point like the hypervolt but is not enabled yet. Problem with the Tesla charger at the moment is that there is no in built pen fault detection for earth. That’s an extra unit to add to your fuse box which is at least £200 here plus extra install cost. It also is not covered for the UK government grant scheme for EV charge points that give you a £300 rebate. Hypervolt ticks all the boxes and also looks premium too.

The armoured cable going into the unit at an angle is sending my OCD into overdrive! Can't the Hypervolt be wired with the mains cable coming in from the back, would look a lot neater?

Thanks for your question - yes it’s a great product, very good safety features built in and their support is very good. They now have many different coloured finishes too that look amazing.

Thanks for your question . On the 7kw charger you will normally get around 30 miles per hour charge! Let us know how you get on with your new Tesla!

Getting my Tesla 3LR on 18th and been confused by which home charger to go for? This has really helped!? Take it you would recommend thus far!?

Watch my previous review vid. The pod point are popular but electricians slam them for very poor quality. The zappi are very good but have had many recent failures. Andersen are the creme but but very expensive. Great option if you are after real premium and the best look. Tesla charger new gen 3 looks great and has many new safety features. But it still doesn’t have pen fault detection for earth. That will add at least £200 to your installation costs. They are also not covered under the government EV grant. Hypervolt ticks all the boxes for quality , service and safety all built in. Can’t recommend them enough - this is just based on my experience and research.

Benson was fantastic and also had all the paperwork done electronically for your safety certs plus applying for your grant for you. All so easy. He covered London and soon Kent area as well as in the UK. If you order the unit directly from Hypervolt they can also help you with their certified engineers in your area. In September they are releasing new colours .. the new black and space grey units do look amazing if you wanted to hold on a few more weeks

How much did it cost to install? Looking at different chargers atm.....

The charger from hypervolt is around £679 . Installation costs will vary but it should be less than £500 typically. Remember you can apply for the EV grant from the government that is done by your installer and that will take off £300 off your installation. Hypervolt product is amazing per my reviews, has many inbuilt features that will save you adding extra safety devices to your consumer unit. Their customer support is also rated as one of the best.

So far it’s been fantastic . The app is so intuitive and easy to use. Adoption was a breeze. Having home charge whenever you need is a game changer and just the right speed to get a good charge within 4-5 hours. Loving the quality and finish of the unit as well. They have just released new colour units in black and space grey coming out soon that look amazing !!

I had to get the guy to install late in the day to have it fitted before a road trip and did say I would fix that myself as the light was really fading. Good point need to get that done!
