You guys are showing exactly what I have been trying to get through to people online. You are running down one of the most major interstates in the Midwest and have a pretty high range vehicle. Until the infrastructure gets built out more , there is no way total EV full size trucks are going to work out hauling or towing anything unless they start out with a 500 to 600 mile range. They need the bench mark to start out with 500 miles carrying 1000 lbs. Then everything is plus or minus from that point. If your running empty in the summer plus. If you are running empty in the middle of winter minus. If you tow a trailer minus. Then make sure there is a Super charger every 150 miles on the Interstate or just build up the rest stations and put a supercharger there. Then at least every 100 miles on hwy roads.

Kyle, your description of how some dealers will mark up a car due to low supply and high demand is one big reason I bought a Tesla. Haggling on the price of a car is such a horrible ordeal for most people, and I hope it fades away quickly. There's a reason "car salespeople" are one of the least trusted/respected jobs out there. Sure, some car salespeople are honest and are looking to get the best deal they can for you. But many of them want to nickel and dime you as much as possible because you're just a quota to them.

Long day but great discoveries of MachE charging characteristics. I hope Ford is watching your fair and accurate analysis. Quite honestly Outofspec / EVDave should be Beta Battery pilots. They’ll get months of data in weeks and fly in new adjustments on the roll. They’ll get the exposure but they’ll beat the wrap that others will blanket her with as one and done content judgments. Timing is everything.

It's so exhausting seeing all the charging issues just keep happening. I know this is a relatively old video but it still just keeps happening. I don't want Tesla to be the only company you can expect a relatively-painless driving experience from. That's not good for anyone except a Tesla shareholder. Which, I mean, I am: but I still want a strong market for people to enjoy.

Is your Mach-E part of the recent recall? Apparently, you will get a $1,000 for your troubles for taking your car in for the recall repair. I think the recall had something to do with some bolts not being properly fastened. Funny thing is no mainstream media is reporting this. If Tesla has such recall, CNBS would invite the likes of Gordon Johnson or Craig Irwin to say now Tesla has a quality control problem.

Fortunately, it's all stuff that can be fixed in OTA software updates. Seems like most non-Teslas are having challenges with seamless charging. Way to many error messages where the cars won't pair. EA and others have to sort their side out too.
@todd5192
@todd5192 3 года назад

I can't really understand the "% is better than miles". At the end of the day you are converting % to miles. Miles shown is not miles regardless of driving speed. It's miles you can drive at give or take 50 mph. If you are going faster / more uphill etc, then obviously you will need to take a % of that. 100 miles left but you know you are going 75/80? Well then it's like 60% of 100 miles. If you have %, it just adds additional work - % -> miles -> miles at x-speed.

He is complaining about efficiency but is still driving at 85mph. No EV is efficient at those speeds. Not being a hater just pointing out the obvious.

Like every Tesladriver....at the end of the day you get tired of charging. If you choosed a SUV you will drive slow to avoid charging cost and time. High speed charging will produce heatpeaks in the cell packs...an interrupt will give the car some time to recover and cool down. Leaf owners Know....heat kills the battery.

I'm not convinced that telling people to unplug and replug every 300 seconds is a good idea. Chances are pretty good the engineers knew what they were doing and are trying to protect some part from overheating. You could be doing damage to the car unwittingly. Interesting video anyway.

This is why I keep holding off on making the transition to EVs. Hopefully in a few years we will see simple plug-n-play charging without random & strange slow charging issues. Hopefully we will eventually see the day when any EV can pull up to any charger and pull crazy charging speeds, regardless of battery temperature, state of charge, charging station, etc... Call me crazy, but I want charging to be just as convenient as filling up a gas tank.

@@Japplesnap cables to hot is a v2 problem and battery temp is solved by preheating. You only have issues if your incompetent or intentionally causing them

I wish Tesla would add more SC's for cars that are towing... I have to unhook from the trailer maybe 1/3 of the charges I have to do. Having some closer together would be nice too!! Flatland driving without a headwind I've gotten 125 miles range...

From 100% charge to 2% in 190 miles? That seems inefficient and abnormal even for the model 3 performance.
