So many people have had questions about how the center screen works and what it can do since Tesla is currently doing contactless deliveries. So here is the orientation that I have given so many people about all the functions! Want to see a Model S/X walk through? comment below!
The Model Y is currently on version 2020.24.6.5. Some things may change in future updates, but the bulk of it should remain.

I’m with you, Nichole! If I wasn’t having surgery this week I would be taking delivery of my Y this week. Good step by step walkthrough of the screen for the first time Tesla owner. I would have preferred it slower, but that’s the beauty of digital video-ease of repeating and start and stop!

DÆrik I did have another question/questions. I ended up getting the 20” induction wheels. Would the factory ones be good for snow? Or should I replace them with like 19” snow tires? Any recommendations on brand or where to get rims from if downsizing? I find there’s not much info on wheel pros and cons.

20" rim should be fine for winter. I'm unsure what the stock tires are for 20" though. I'll research. Personally I have a separate set of wheels/tires from TSportline for winter and have all season tires on them. TSportline has some great options and very reasonably priced as well.

Nichole Mcguire - Nokian Hakkepellita R3s will fit the 20” wheels - I checked the website. Expensive, but the best snow tires I’ve ever had. I have them on my Volvo wagon, but would get them for the Y as well.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Daerik! I took delivery of my Tesla Y (Tessy) a couple of weeks ago and have been scared to take her very far since I had no idea where/what everything controlled. I have been slowly learning her screens. (There is sooo much to learn about the car, since it is nothing like the traditional car with knobs and buttons that are labeled with what action they do.) Of course Tesla walked me through all the screens in the 0-to 60-fashion the car is known for. But this video allowed me to follow along in my car as you address each icon and what it controls. This video is a fabulous intro to how all the screens/icons work. I recommend everyone get this video and watch it before and after you take delivery. The car has sooo many capabilities it takes a while to remember them all.

Took delivery of my Y 6.5 hour ago. Very helpful, even though the screens are self explanatory. Love the driver profiles. At 6' with a 4' 11" wife it will be very usefull.

I’ve had two blue, 1 black, 1 midnight silver metallic and now looking at a white on white Tesla . The white on white has grown on me a lot. I drove a Red Performance Y, and it’s a gorgeous color but not my style. Will get the identical Y you just got too!

@@BridgesPLTA I am a Car Guy. I love my Classic cars. The Tesla Model Y I have is on another level. I like it, yet It is much more fun to drive without the autonomous driving. A serious road machine for sure. Now its my commuter, and I would do it again. However, WA State says they are for EVs. They are not, actions are louder than words... Inslee and the rest of the goobrment will work against EV owners. Look at their actions, not their words. I just wanna have my cars the way I want, plug in AND Gas 'er up! Keep the shinny side up guys!

Thanks for the informative and very thorough walk-through!! I won’t see my Y until September, but I keep reading up on and seeing information about functionality… This ties together the functionality with where to find controls for all the amazing tech that this vehicle has to offer. I’m guessing it was less than exciting to present, but this is great stuff for someone who needs to be able to hit the ground running with a touchless delivery.

update, we love your show & love spacex & we just got our S dual motor fsd while the tri/4? motor fsd cybertruck gets here. i'm all in TSLA & i love all Elon Musk does & will keep doing..we've drove from California to Boca Chica to see the Star Ship & it was so awesome to see it getting built in person!! we have LOTS of SOLAR & backup battery system to charge them both

A very thorough walk through. We’ve had a Model 3 since March but mileage is still low due to The Situation! The screen I’d love to see more detail on is the Energy Consumption graph; I don’t think it’s clear exactly how to interpret that data, so a more in-depth discussion on here that would be welcome.

Elon Musk thank you for your vision and drive to keep improving your product. As a 65 year old man, I find a number of things in the order process that could be much improved. I found it vague, often frustrating and bewildering at every turn, feeling more like living in limbo than as a valued customer. The bright spot has been my Customer Delivery Specialist, Cesar Boza. He is a credit to the company, and has been incredible. He has answered my questions, worked around my scheduled surgery, and could not have been more helpful and understanding. I honestly feel that we’ve developed a friendship the last couple of weeks. I hope we can even meet one day. Keep improving ALL aspects of Tesla and be the industry leader in all aspects including the ordering experience.

We've had our Model 3 for two years and I never realized what the Summon Standby Mode Enabling option was used for! I don't do any summoning, so I guess that's why?

Useful stuff thanks! I’d like to think of myself as a future potential Tesla M3 owner, but saw a channel on RU-vid of sentry videos of thieves or random people breaking into and keying Tesla cars! They are clearly jealous and have hate towards Tesla owners. It’s good to have sentry mode though so it helps when filing police reports. Sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn’t depends on the police in that area. I love Tesla cars though tired of filling ⛽️ and fan of technology 😎
