Please make sure to check the car seat manual and Tesla's manual to determine if your infant seat can touch the front seat. If not, in case of a crash, could be very unsafe.
Thanks for the tip. We don't drive around with it touching the front seat, we leave a small gap. We were just showing how it fits for purposes of the video.
guys, that's a safety issue having the rear facing car seat touching the driver seat, in an accident the drive seat will move forward and back in an accident there should be a few inches of gap between the seat and car seat, its in your carseat manual.
Thanks for making this video my wife is due in October and we are looking for a SUV and looks like the Model Y fits the bill. Also I did not know Nuna car seat fits in a Uppababy stroller.
What other cars were you comparing the Model Y too? We’re expecting our first baby this spring and were initially concerned about infant seat fit until watching this video!
We were highly considering an Audi SQ5 but it wasn’t even close to passing the car seat test (I couldn’t sit in passenger with a car seat behind me. WAY too small.) Then we looked at a Q7 and Q8 but we didn’t like either of them as much as the Tesla.
I really wish they made crossovers a little bigger. I would not be able to drive the car at 6’ 6” while leaving a gap between the driver and car seat. Is my only option really to get a large American SUV or minivan?

Man this was the exact video we needed with the same exact stroller lol. Our only issue now is a new baby on the way and a dog who sits in the back 😩. Do you think an adult could fit in the back middle with two infant seats and a medium sized dog?
I assume you mean a dog in the trunk? If so, yes an adult could fit between the 2 car seats however it would be a tight fit. Would work for short drives but I wouldn’t road trip that way long distance.
No, definitely not big enough for a trunk. But we do use it often. When we pickup food we put it in front so the car doesn’t stink like food. It’s also nice for storing some extra stuff on a road trip.
I can attest to this in our 3. We got a front facing car seat for our 3.5 year old and a rear facing for our 4 month old on either side while wife sits in the middle. She’s barely 5 feet tall with a small frame and she complains every time we go somewhere. Got a Y on order and we’ll see if there’s any difference
Yes, we have a car seat and have had 2 other adults sitting in the back seat comfortably. I wouldn’t do it on a long road trip, but for normal driving it would work if needed.
Yes, we have 2 passengers back there often with the car seat. I wouldn’t want to ride back there on a super long road trip but around town isn’t bad at all.
This car would be great with 2 kids, but 3 would be pushing it. I’m sure one day Tesla will release something bigger as batteries and technology progress.
