What do you mean FaiRLy EarLy teCHnoLoGy? Electric cars have been around for more time than internal combustion cars. I think we are close to 200 years since they came out. Just that when they came out they were deemed unviable , because they had low range and non-rechargable batteries. Btw , if i had the cash no way i would buy the tesla Plaid. The build quality is horrible compared to the price you need to pay for it (for me that is 230 000$). Maybe an used one , but i personally would wait untill the competition starts to sell their cars. Right now i am considering Lucid. Hopefully they come to market soon at the prices they advertised. Also considering Rivian if i want to get a pick-up. Which i am also waiting on to come to the market. Just personal opinions , not gonna tell others how to spend their money. I personally just don't like a lot of things about tesla , as examples: Build Quality , Customer Support , Right to repair and their business practices. Other than that it is a good car.

Almost every high end performance ev has a two speed gearbox, one gear for the low end, and another for the top end. You could have a very tall single speed, but it would take you forever to max it out.
