Bro he must of sucked at racing because Tesla Model S Plaid has done 9.2s in the Quarter mile stock with no weight cutting and your modified hellcat redeye did 9.3s so with 100% charge and a driver who is experienced would probably give you more of a race and possibly beat you but I'm not sure because sometimes modified cars just get even faster as they keep doing the Quarter miles and get better launches

Absolutely not true. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 6-7 tenths or so, with a big drop in mph, around 15 mph or so, with that low of a SOC (25%). I've raced mine numerous times, including against Andrew (the Plaid in this race), and they definitely slow down with lower SOC. Still fast, but higher SOC is needed for optimal runs.

I’m not impressed by a car that can’t run its best except under 100% charge. A mid range charge is probably what you’d expect to see in the real world. So yeah, his car is slower.
Also, the owner of the plaid said his best time at that track was a 9.4. ETs to ETs, the challenger is the quicker car with a bad ass driver. I’m amazed how well you hooked.

That guy has a channel. You can see he wasn't expecting a pro tree. The Tesla runs the same time over and over and over. You and I could run those times over and over and over. If you want to see which car is faster just look at their fastest slips. If one race is all you want to go off, than both guys should know it's a pro tree.
I recently saw few Tesla owners charging at the recharge station, they were trying to look cool like they had nothing better to do...lol. I filled my gas tank went to the grocery store and when I drove by, they were still there Charging. They did look cool though!
Nothing wrong with EVs, but you can't improve them yourself and they don't have the same kind of engagement as a stick shifter, and the cars are all the same. A Tesla model S is a Tesla model S, they don't have characters. Like, the project car I'm planning is a 13B swap in a Miata. No way in hell that car won't have character. There's no room for that kind of self-done modifications on an electric car, you aren't really making it your car by the work if your own hands, someone else built it and you're just the driver. It can be fucking fast, sure. But you haven't seen every part of the car yourself and put in the blood sweat and tears to make it really *your car*.
To be fair, if you tried hard enough you could motor swap it but the only reason people don't is because the market is only just now blowing up for electric cars and there aren't as many options, plus it involves a lot more computer work than a normal engine swap. In the future they have potential, but for now they suck and they'll never in my opinion match a gasoline car you build with your own hands whether they're faster or not.
A bit of clarity, finally. I'm thinking of all the people commenting, none of them were at the track that day. I was. This is the first prepped track day this car has seen on this set up. This is the second pass on this setup, with zero changes from the first pass. We literally went out to see how it runs, looking to just get a flat out pass to see what the nitrous would do. The tesla guy was all over this car within 2 minutes of pulling to the staging lane. His camera went 360 around the car in and out. He wanted this race. Tesla has many followers. Tesla is the one who asked to run out the back with the redeye. Tesla hovers redeye with camera, and has like 4 cameras on his Tesla, narrating each run he does. Tesla switched classes to run with the redeye. Tesla took several videos around red eye. Tesla also looks down when the light drops and takes his glove off at the line to play with cameras right beforehand. Redeye drives to track and wants to test out new setup. Redeye has one camera, and is trying to dial in tune and log data. Redeye lines up in same class, both passes. Redeye has Tesla pulled behind him in second pass. Redeye is staging as Tesla narrates all his disadvantages. Tesla looks down at the light, but leaves right after redeye. You know the rest. After the race and before I made it to the staging area one of the track officials already told me, they mentioned to Mr. Tesla it was pro tree, and he was stating he didn't know. I never heard the conversation personally. IT IS WHAT IT IS PEOPLE. We went out there to have fun and see what car would do. It is very apparent Tesla is there to get the videos and views, that is cool and everything, but how in the hell is this redeye setting this race up? Just look at his video of the redeye, isn't it obvious he set this up? No one is denying the tesla is fast. It would be a badass race to see both of these cars leave at same time, but numbers don't lie.... if both hook and hit a solid pass, the red eye should win. Tesla himself admits this redeye 2nd run on a new setup was faster than his pb. Still would be a badass race!
This. Tesla guy actually has a really fun channel. I’d say he’s a pretty humble guy 99% of the time. And yes, he LOOKS for fast cars to help prop up his channel. His viewers literally ask for it all the time. He has a Tesla plaid channel, of course he’s trying to find good races, talk to folks and look at cars. He, himself, was a gear head for many years. When he says he wasn’t told there was a pro tree - or simply didn’t hear it - i believe him. He has admitted several times this is a fast car and this car has beaten his PB. This whole thing about the charge is kind of silly. It doesn’t make a huge difference. That all said, a couple of truths here: -he lost fair and square BUT… -his Tesla runs consistent low 9s. I’ve seen it. Hell, he shows his slips after every pass. This was one of the worst passes I’ve seen his car make. This is what leads me to believe he didn’t know it was a pro tree. He also cuts so pretty decent lights when he’s trying. -The red eye is fast…likely faster than the plaid. Whether just as consistent, I’m unsure. The nice thing is there is no waiting around for plaid modes/track modes/battery warm up etc. -Plaid guy wasn’t prepared. A bit unlike him given what I’ve seen from his own channel. Should he have been? Yep. Did he lose as a result, yep. I would DEFINITELY like to see another go at this one though. I think the red eye could still win, but there is no doubt this SHOULD have been much closer. That’s a race we’d all like to see, i think. -Both are fast cars - can’t we just enjoy a good race without a bunch of back and forth whining? FFS, ya’ll sound like a bunch of kids.
I see the Redeye made the pass in just over 9 seconds. I own a Redeye and it is about a 10.5 second car consistently. Even my car would have beaten that plaid. The excuse that it was 46% charged??? If you want to race you better be ready to run PERIOD. First rule of racing, be ready to RUN.
I'm sure they'll race again at that same track.....and based on the Tesla's previous et's and trap speeds the Redeye with NOS will lose .....the Tesla has run 9.25@151mph so it's not if it's when.....enjoy the W

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: My class was running pro tree all day. The owner of the Tesla Plaid, Andrew, came into MY class because he wanted to race me. When he willingly changed classes, he says he was unaware that the tree was different from the class he was running in prior to that. If I challenged someone to a race and changed over to their class to do it, it would not be their responsibility to tell me what tree it was anymore than it is mine to tell him. Andrew has agreed on this fact in his video. Unfortunately, Mr. Andrew has not been so forthcoming with the truth in regards to other facts. Because he didn't like what the announcer said about his Tesla being 100% charged in the unedited, uncut video we shared on RU-vid, he accused me personally of lying to everyone about his state of charge. He has since edited his own comments several times, changing it to my channel was lying and now that my channel "has the announcer saying" he was at 100%. Instead of properly coming forward and saying that his accusation was completely made up and FALSE, he has allowed his subscribers to perpetuate the lie and attack me personally. Some have even been lead to believe that this race was a set up, that I somehow changed the tree on him without his knowledge, and that the entire track conspired against him to make him lose this race. All of which are completely false and, again, have received no correction from Andrew to indicate such. Andrew just ran this same track (OSW) on a solo run. His quarter mile time was 9.43 @ 149mph... on 96% charge. His excuse for the slow time? There was a "headwind". All of this information can be verified on his RU-vid channel in his own words. The point of all of this is to say, number one, there is ALWAYS going to be someone faster than you. Number two, don't believe everything you read or hear. My channel is here to provide a guide for other people like me that just want to build a car in their garage. I race to beat my last personal best. If you want to watch the fastest Tesla on record I am well aware that Andrew's is not it and that some other guy on some other channel could beat me. I don't doubt it. Andrew got mad that I posted an unedited video of our race on RU-vid and fabricated a lie that I was running around telling everyone that he was 100% charged. He has since edited and deleted comments (but I still have all the screenshots) of his completely made-up claim. At the end of the day I'm not going to argue with a grown man about his state of charge. His demand that I include "Half-charged Tesla Plaid vs NOS Redeye (on a High DA day)" to somehow pass his own integrity test just shows what a ridiculous, pansy he is. How many times have you seen him include why his opponents lost on his videos after he trolls them? If so, it would be good to see screenshots of them because so far this could be made up as well.When it comes to the state of charge, the weird thing is that the announcer on the first run clearly said that Tesla was at 55% charge yet when it ran against you the same guy says Tesla is at 100% charge so that could have been the reason why he thought you were telling everyone that he was at 100% charge (again, no proof of that as for now, just your words) You don't deserve the hate from all of these people claiming you cheated because you did everything right, but that's just the nature of the brand fanboys, and Andrew can't really do anything about it. It would be cool to see a rematch with plaid at a higher state of charge and Andrew aware of pro tree as there are dozens of videos of plaid running 9.2-9.3 ( Andrew PB is only 9.43 because he only made three full runs (neither of which used launch/drag strip mode) with plaid as he was forced to stay above 9.9 ET due to NHTSA rules in most of his runs). So it would be interesting to see a race against a plaid with Drag Strip Mode/Launch mode at higher SOC. I've watched pretty much all of Andrews videos and I can say he is a nice guy and the whole drama started with his viewers, making up conspiracy theories to hide the fact that the plaid lost. Andrew has over 1000 time slips on his Teslas many of which were lost so I am pretty sure he knows how to lose and that there is always someone faster than him. As for now there is proof that Andrew said you won “Fair and Square" and no proof of your claims about his demand and lie and as you said: "Number two, don't believe everything you read or hear". So until you show the screenshots there is nothing to blame Andrew for. I wouldn't bother reading people's comments trying to argue it was not a fair race as they are the ones that make Andrew look bad and create unnecessary conflicts.

If the truth be told, Plaid was running SportsmanTree all day ( three yellows sequentially .500 versus three solid .400 ) and in every race the Plaid was in prior to this , Plaid was told, as he had at other tracks, to keep runs at or above 10.00 qtr mile because no cage. For this race he was told he could go all out , but was not told of the Protree as Plaid was a Street Stock car. Regardless, Redeye cut a better tree and beat the Plaid in this race only. Plaid was also at 46% SOC when it normally runs at >80% SOC as Plaid had driven to the track in daily driver car, a distance of approx 100 miles. Q: Was Redeye driven to track or trailered in ? In fairness to both racers, the announcer was announcing totally inaccurate info about Tesla’s SOC.
If you challenge or accept a race you should be able to accept the outcome. Whatever excuse you give after a loss, is nothing but just an excuse. In my opinion if you decide to drive your golf cart to a track regardless of how long your drive was you shouldn't challenge anyone unless your ready to handle loosing in a fair race. Too bad they didn't race again. I'm sure the outcome would have been identical..

The Tesla plaid is a stock 4-door sedan. That Redeye was heavily modified with huge rear slicks. The Tesla may not have been fully charged. Take a bone-stock Redeye and a fully charged Plaid then it might win.
Everytime a plaid loses its a low battery or a new racer say the tesla fan boys. They are ugly junk. Nice to see other companies making decent looking electic cars. Might be intrested in an electic car now that better quality cars are coming out.

147.42 vs 143.72 for trap speeds. Your car is plain out faster than the Tesla. Trap speeds show more of what the car is capable of, ET shows who's the better driver and better launch. (you took him in both)!
I saw a clip of him beating a dragster. I knew it wasn't an actual top fuel car since he only did like 6.5 seconds to beat it, but the fact that he lost to a red-eye at any charge level and then proceeded to beat a car that was actually built for the drag strip from the bottom up, I'm questioning whether that dragster had a fuckin 2 cylinder in it.
It's cool the Tesla can launch and go fast... but once you have raced one of them, you have raced all of them. There's not really anything you can do to the car unless you are a Tesla engineer.

Finally found the Tesla Plaid owner's video among his others. He always races cars that do 10s+ w/ no roll cage (non-stock cars that do sub 10s need roll cages). All other cars w/ cages he purposefully stays away from to always get his wins. So he thought he would win against the Redeye bcuz it had no cage, but lost... crazy
Funny how the Tesla owner didn't say anything about what the announcer said in his own video while recording or editing, but comments bizarre claims ab the Redeye owner and announcer.
Just bc the battery is at 46 doesnt change the speed. If thats the case they dont need to bring them to the track if they are only good for a couple passes then make an excuse that battery was low.
It does, it runs 9.2 at 100% and 9.9 at 20%, they are usally fastest on the 3rd pass when the battery warms up, the demon would be slower since it's engine would start getting too hot so only good for A few passes In a given time frame compared to plaid which can do 40 consecutive runs.

I find it funny these Tesla guys are so serious. You legit bought a car off the lot that takes zero skill to get down the track. Grandmothers are more than capable of achieving the same time and you have zero sweat equity into a build that real racers have put blood sweat and tears into. Laughable!
@@pedroneves3153 actually nobody really cares because of the reasons stated above. You didn’t do anything other than drive it off the lot and it does all the work for you. It’s all just a gimmicky boring waste of time. It’s a real life cheat code. Up up down down left right left right B A start.

A week or two before this event the same guy (Andrew) ran solo at the same track (OSW) and his best time was 9.43. He was also at 96% charge. Record track times can't always be duplicated by other drivers. I'm not sure what you guys don't understand about that.
I think it's absolutely possible.. With the right driver. A driver makes a huge difference in what a car can and can't run. Most of the people who have attacked us for posting this video, haven't taken that into account. Just because a car is "supposed" to run a certain time doesn't mean that it will with a bad driver.

I hv 4 demons, I've raced 45 years, thee demon has never run 9.65. No one in country has. That redeye doe not just have spray. They don't hook stock. I have a superstock that off street went 10.47 with ac on. So those run what dodge said, the tesla owner has slo times as far as tesla go. But hes an old gear head and built and raced muscle cars 40 years too. So don't just run your mouth. Its ignorant.
