Tesla Gwiz range test after installing Tesla Mercedes battery cells. The Reva Gwiz is over 15 year old electric car made in India. The original lead acid batteries are heavy and don't have a great range. We have since installed Tesla Mercedes Lithium ion car battery cells and in this video i do a comparison between the range test on the old batteries compared to the new lithium ion cells

I second the motor upgerade. There are a lot of really compact brushless motors on the market for EVs that would not only make this G-wiz more efficient, but it would be like shit off a shovel in terms of acceleration... Especially for a G-wiz lol

just a heads up - Lithium batteries still have some level of voltage sag. those battery meters only really read the voltage so they can read higher or lower depending on pack load and not so much the remaining amp hours within the pack. If your BMS on the battery has a coulomb meter, I would consider working my readings out based on that as it usually gives a much better estimate on capacity remaining based off the pack's realtime performance.

I absolutely love the G-Wiz, Maybe do an extreme weight reduction and get as much weight off as possible! That would help with acceleration too! But keep up the great work Calvin!

Nice video! Cool project! Should be easier to change batteries, and keep a vehicle road legal. I only know about Norway, and it's close to impossible to switch battery chemistry, without a ton of paper work and independent approval documents. I hope there will be more plug and play conversion kits, with appropriate documentation, to make combustion vehicle fully electric, and to replace depleted old batteries to revive vintage EVs.

It's possible a motor upgrade would improve range further depending on the one used. A newer electric cars motor is more efficient, more powerful, and most importantly more power dense. A PMSM from a model 3 would be ideal.

Calvin haven't watched alot of the video yet but if you've not considered it or spoken about it could you take the g wiz to a drag strip and possibly race some cars or modified ones or like something quick for a laugh like a mustang or like some supercar also I know some mustangs from factory on rapid but I also had muscle cars in mind even tho the mustangs a pony car apparently
