Don't waste your time write it off forget about the incident and don't buy from them again. You did that with the Corvette you got stuck by Chevrolet and walked away. Do it again.
No I sued Chevy, and Chevy wrote me a $10,000 check... You don't "walk away" from your problems - you fight them head on!! That's what is wrong with the world today - too many people walking away and not enough people fighting for what's right!!! I will fight them until the end. Win or lose I can sleep knowing I didn't walk away. #fight
Expose that dealership; bet you're not the only one. How many $1500 nonrefundable deposits have they collected? Get local News to help expose them too? They deserve some bad press over this. Deceptive advertising.
Definitely agree. Perhaps for legal matters, but how many shady dealership stories have I’ve heard this same scene from. Same goes with there so called administrative fees. I was looking for a EV and found an “IMPEX AUTO SALE,” ON EBAY, where 1st hand I ran away because they wouldn’t clearly answer questions from the start and emphasized a $850 administrative fee on top of the sale plus try to deem they will charge applicable taxes even for out of state buyer 🤦♂️ Can say pls STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAR DEALER.
News fyi tesla doesn't have dealerships, this is just considered a sales and delivery/service location but not a individual dealership. But this whole thing sucks ass
Hey Randy, before I comment on the tesla debacle, I want to congratulate you. You just turned 438,000 subscribers you’re growing every single week and understandably, so! you are in my Opinion, hands-down the best automotive channel on RU-vid! Your enthusiasm, exuberance love of these vehicles, variety of different posts and cars, you are sharing your life has made me feel like a friend! Plus your knowledge no one comes close! It’s an absolute disgrace and travesty that dealerships like this are even allowed to exist! They are lowlifes, scamming, and screwing, honest, hard-working people for a few bucks!
Try going back for warranty work with any noise issues. They'll gladly have you drive out your warranty miles to tell you after days that they couldn't replicate the issue. I can't tell you how often I've returned to them for noises. Once, the service tech told me after replacing my control arms that the bump stops on the struts were installed incorrectly. Since I purchased the car from Tesla, the only people who touched it was Tesla. Whenever I return, I leave with the original issue and discover new damage. Speaker issue, door panel damage, oily hand print on the lining (they took care of that one), and now I have rear noise when going over bumps. They are pretending not to hear that now. I have about 8k miles left before the original warranty runs out. They have already tried to charge me once for warranty work. I bet when my warranty is up, They'll finally find the noise to charge me to replace the struts.
Tesla can get really shady at times. When I purchased my vehicle years ago, my car had red calipers and was listed as a performance model. I got there to pick up the car, it has gray calipers, a missing spoiler, and the salesperson told me that it's a " ghost performance model" whatever that means.
@@frederickfitzwilliam5909basically all they did was leave the exterior the same as a long range but give it the same battery and motors as a performance. they sold it for a bit cheaper as well. i personally like them as the performance models don’t really get any differences besides the brake color and 3M spoiler
It seems the Travis guy from Tesla and maybe some others are definitely doing a cover up to possibly save there jobs instead of just doing the right thing and refunding your money. I would like to think that this is just a couple of bad employees instead of a company wide problem. Tesla needs to repair the damage and make this right with you and refund your money and maybe give you some supercharging credits or something for wasting all your time. Hopefully someone from Tesla will see these videos and the people responsible for this fiasco will be held accountable.
This is just an employee who wants to keep his job. Doing what he is told. Maybe Randy might get a resolution because of the RU-vid exposure, but what does that say about a corporation that needs to be forced to do the right thing. The average man on the street doesn't have a large RU-vid or is not on social media. So Tesla might resolve Randy's problem to make themselves look good, but they won't hesitate to screw anyone else with a similar Problem!
@@Travler-gb2cf >>>>Yeah right. When I freaking break into your house and steal everything you can simply just remember "I'm just someone who is just trying to survive." ..."Doing what I have to do to survive." >>>> Sounds about right.? Huh?
@@edwinclaudio8081 and if you're shot breaking into my house, I'm just doing what I need to do to survive as well. What twisted logic you have unfortunately there are others like you
@@Travler-gb2cf >>>> Hey.... I'm just trying to survive. Keep my income and obtainment of assets, etc... Notice how there is no type of understanding when it's your butt who is going/getting screwed with someone who is just trying to keep his job/income. "The tesla employee is just trying to keep his job" (as you stated), but you're ready to shoot me if I continue my business practice. Twisted logic? Fortunately, I know there can't be two-faced, hypocrite, DAMF like you everywhere. Can there be?
Reach out to a local news cast in their area, most have a consumer advocate, once you tell them your story they will go to the dealership with a news crew and cameras and you won't believe how quickly you will get your money back. Works Everytime!!
Best one is up in Boston, Massachusetts. WCVB channel 5 has a full investigation team that has nailed several dealers in that area and forced them right. 😊
The Attorney General in my state has a Consumer Protection division. I suggest that you contact the AG in the dealership state to see if they can do anything and find out if other complaints have been made against the dealership. Good luck.
Randy, I just saw your part II? about your experience with the Tesla dealership. When I was shopping for my Tesla I noticed in many occasions they were using generic pics of cars rather than the pics of the actual car they were offering. To them, salespeople and dealerships, a car is a car while to us, a car is our pride and joy for years to come. We know how smart and manipulative some of them get to just make a business, for that reason, I put it always upon me to do my homework as thoroughly as possible not get tangled up with them or have any regrets. Having said that, being a Tesla enthusiast, I wish you luck and hope you come to a happy ending where both parties are happy.
If you end up having to sue them I would sue for 3 times the amount. That way you can get some compensation for your traveling ,court costs and the stress they’re causing you.
Hello Randy! At 21:28 in part 1, you showed us a picture from your car's owner's manual showing the new interior and steering yoke. Hopefully those files are still on your phone in the cache. Best of luck!
Hi Randy! You may want to check your paperwork. Most paperwork nowadays contain a clause were you agree to settle any disputes through arbitration instead of small claims. Also the paperwork will state which state laws apply. In most arbitration clauses it will also state who bears the cost of arbitration.
Tesla is known to have some of the worst and unsafe work conditions.. People have literally died in their factories and it might be some of the highest numbers beside Amazon.. It's why I don support anything Tesla.. Elon is bigot Ponzi scheme king and master vaporware salesman taking tax payer money while not wanting there to be government supported programs.. Any one with a Tesla is very nazi aligned.. Lol
I work for Dent Wizard which is an automotive recon company for dealerships and personal cars. We was contracted at a Tesla dealer in Atlanta, GA. Long story short, Tesla is the worst company in so many ways to have contracts with. They had a total recon package with Dent Wizard for their used Teslas. PDR, Interior/Wheel Repair, Bumper Repair/Paint and Detailing. We charged them $1800 per used Tesla for recon. That is considered cheap considering all the stuff we do to per car. Tesla said the price was too high and executed the contract with us and went with a company called Teph Seal. Teph Seal didnt offer a package and their prices are 2x higher than Dent Wizard. We were contracted with them for like 5 months. We recon'd 28 Teslas and Tesla refused to pay for last 5 Teslas that were recon'd before ending the contract.
How disgusting, they need to be accountable for their mistake. They are wrong and sorry you have had this experience Randy, Great to listen to this video to highlight this deliberate coverup
Sorry to see what's happening! On the other hand, I 've planned to get a brand new model s long range (base price $75000 ++) from this same dealership. I think, I' m gonna wait and see how Tesla reacts to this problem. And maybe go somewhere else and look for something else. They should just admit their mistake, give you your money back, and hope to sell you another one. It would have been much better for their image!
I would cancel the order and go with another dealership, especially the car is new and can specced elsewhere. Out of principle. And leave a negative review quoting this video
$1,500 in-worth of Supercharger credits will have to make that even if that $1,500 isn’t returned for full refund, sorry about your experience with this crappy Tesla dealership Randy. Hope you get it back!💯
keep in mind you did show us the yoke in the first part in the owners manual very unfortunate that this happened to you thats why i avoid stealerships without looking at the car i learned the hard way as well just keep your head up
You got that famous dealership runaround. "I'll resolve the issue." "Come back later. " "What refund? " It sucks that they scam customers regularly. It's a known practice that the government has never investigated. I recommend Carmax Randy. I can't guarantee a better experience but they don't have Car salesmen. They have associates to help you buy a vehicle that you want.
Every state and the federal has laws on this stuff. This needs to be reported to the proper agency and also it needs to go to court so is a record of this on the legal court records. Then it goes in their business records for the state they are in so people can see it in black and white that this dealership got penalties for this 😮😊
I wonder if that dealership took that fact that you lived in Oklahoma into its decision not to refund your money? Knowing how much of an inconvenience it would be for you to go back and forth if it did go to court and the fact that travel would eventually end up costing you ad much as the refund was for, they just expected you to grumble a bit, then eat the cost and go away.
Sorry to hear about this situation Randy. They should’ve not shown the interior refresh with pictures. That’s on their end. Good luck to fighting this problem with Tesla. It’s not fair that they can’t give you your money back. They shouldn’t be giving you such a problem. I would be the same way about this incident.
Hi Randy, I had a similar incident in Canada but it was not Tesla. In 2021, I decided to purchase a used but low mileage Chevy Volt at a Dodge dealership about 7 hours away based on viewing the online pictures and talking with sales person during a phone call. I complete the transaction and loan agreement paperwork by email. This would allow me to easily get temporary registration to drive it back to my province. I travelled to pick up the car the next weekend(7 hours away) however when I arrived and viewed the car I discovered 5 large baseball size dents in the side of the car. I told the sales person I did not know there was dents in the car and this information was not disclosed to me. I advised I would not be purchasing but they said I had already agreed and signed the loan papers previously. I said I was not follow through with the purchase or payments then I drove back home, a 7 hour trip. The only difference was that I hadn’t put any deposit down but I was still worried that I had purchased this damaged car. Not one car payment was ever withdrawn so I guess it turned out ok for me. I learned a valuable lesson to always try to view vehicles in person before purchasing.
file a complaint with the Kansas attorney general office or what ever state agency controls retail and auto commerce .. You have them committing fraud. You even have Mike as a witness as to what was said on the day you were there. Also approach the local Kansas City television stations and get them on this case.
My job recently started offering Tesla option as a company car (which we pay a huge portion, it’s not totally free). I was up for a new car now. I went with the non Tesla option after I saw this video. I hate shady companies. Shame on you Tesla.
Thank you Randy for your tips, wish I had known them before the Porsche/Audi dealer in Tuscon Arizona ripped me off. I foùñd a car online and when they found out I was driving down to see the car, they raised the price 2K after I had left a deposit to hold the car. Like you, after I drove 2 states and 2 days of being behind the wheel, I decided it just wasn't worth my time or energy to fight abòut it...
I bet they wouldn't do it if they know their CEO and board of directors could end up in the ground. This is how tight controls need to be on corporations. 😮😊
Well, I thought I was screwed over by them after two 4 hour round trips to the showroom, first time to be told, "the car's not been inspected yet", followed by an hour wait, then "the car needs a part", a subsequent trip despite having an appointment, "the part hasn't arrived yet, come back next week" on the third trip I finally got the car, after asking the issue to be escalated and proposing some free supercharging, "we'll look into it". two months later: nada, no free supercharging. Fortunately, I did get the car I ordered, so that's a good start. Sorry to hear you had an even worse delivery experience, their pre- and post-sales service has definitely gone downhill.
Randy I recommend you get a lawyer and put a lawsuit against them to get back your money 💰 because is clearly they won't refund you I know is really annoying but I think is the best solution in your case good luck 🍀
Randy explained in detail that because it's only $1500, he won't be able to get an atty involved, it's a small claims court issue. That will involve Randy travelling to Missouri at least twice, once to file a small claims suit, and then to go back on the court date to attend the actual deal. He explained that an atty will not want to handle a case that would only net a $1500 return, too small. I wouldn't be surprised to see Randy go to court at least three times, as Tesla will probably wait till the last second and get a delay. Very common tactic.
They see it as you lose $1,500 to use for scaming you. Or you can spend $10,000 at court and probably win, but your only going get $1,500. So in there eyes it let use scam you or spend more money in court to get it back. They know most choose to just let the scam happen.
So sorry to hear that you had this issue. Tesla employees have no incentive to cheat you this way. As a Tesla owner, I've had nothing but good experiences with Tesla here in Maryland. Shame on them.
There are dealerships all over that scam people out here f money. I refuse to buy a car from a dealership for that reason. You do have the evidence to get your money back. I'm in law enforcement in the state of Michigan and that is enough evidence for the refund. I wish you the best
Well you got a video of it. In the part one of this series you literally showed us the owners manual. Specifically the yoke steering wheel. That can still hold in court
Absolute shame on Tesla! Over $1500.. unbelievable! Hope u get resolution Randy. So much for customer service and customer care.. this is a total poor show !!!
This comes down to a management issue at this dealership. I hope with this video and some google reviews that upper management will take some action against these employees for scamming you.
I believe you on the dealership has changed the add to screw you out of the money you put down. Have you tried a search that describes the one you ordered? I've found that other sites sometimes screen shots the sales adds for their site and it may have the original sales add still up with the pictures. Good luck, I hope you are able to get your deposie back. Ray
I agree save the pictures and screen shots. I bought a used Audi S3 from an Audi dealer with Audi's useless Used Warranty. On collection day one of the alloy wheels had damage on it that wasn't in the advert pictures. The dealership parked the car against the showroom front window possibly to hide the alloy damage but they didn't expect me to check the car all over before driving away. One other tip is don't let the garage detail the car as my Audi had been polished by a baboon on drugs so after a hand wash a week after collecting the car the Auto Glym polish washed off revealing hazing in the grey paint on one side. Annoyed wasn't exactly how I felt as I wanted to thump someone.
Have you filed a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau? Assuming they are members it will make them explain this story to yet another entity. How about the federal Consumer Financial Protection Agency? Again it's just forcing them to deal yet another agency which will take their time to respond. Assuming you were dealing with Tesla on State Line Road in Kansas City Mo, try contacting the Missouri Consumer Protection Hotline which is run out of the Attorney General's Office in Missouri. Hit them from all sides and see what happens. Also I noticed at BMW of Kansas City there is a blue 2021 Tesla model S long range with the black interior and yoke that looks EXACTLY like the car you were trying to buy. I wonder if that is it. Finally when you buy cars online like this take note of the VIN number so you can match that up to the car when you physically see it. That will prove immediately if they are trying to shoot you thru the grease.
Sorry to hear your hassle, I'm amazed the the 'dark art' of car sales is universal!! all buddy talk from salesman rite upto the point you sign the paperwork and of course your hard earned is in their account!! Hope you get a resolution that suits you!! 😎👍🏴🇬🇧
The residual effects of this video, people who might have considered purchasing a used Tesla on the heels of the Indy trip with MWM and the 300k Tesla are now enlightened about their dealership c/s.
As a Tesla stock owner and Model X owner this really pisses me off. Was very interested in picking up another one from them, not now. Thanks for the video and sorry your going through this.
Randy, Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO are two separate cities. It would be like calling Norman, OK and Edmond, OK the same city. Now, Texhoma is one city located in both OK and TX. A real rare oddity. I hope this clears up your geographic confusion. BTW, that Tesla dealership that caused you grief is in Kansas City, MO on State Line. The city directly across the street is Leawood KS.
i wouldnt waste my time on this Randy. You have gotten the ultimate revenge, in my opinion, by letting us know the friggin shady business dealings of this car maker I, and your viewer will think twice before dealing with those people
This needs to be taken care of on the federal level to eliminate "non-refundable deposits" . That is the best way to stop this stuff dead in its tracks. 😮😊
That dealership is literally on State Line Rd. It's in Missouri, the other side of the Street is Kansas. It's funny driving up and down that road seeing what businesses are on what side of the street basically based off the town or states laws for their business.
It is surprising that a company the size of Tesla would be that petty. It's probably the salesman that screwed up that is trying to cover up his mistakes.
Hey Randy you do have proof of the black interior and the yoke steering wheel because you showed us everything as well as the owners manual in the first video so if you didn’t take screen shots just use your last youtube video
Welcome to Tesla, the front portion of the tesla’s pictures don’t depict the interior colour. Newer Models although, you can use the pictures to determine the interior colour. This goes for the owners manual too, my 2021 Model Y will show the new 2023 Model Y’s features that I don’t have! And if you do want to purchase a new-used Model S I believ you can ask Tesla to remove the FSD, which could bump a couple thousand dollars off of your car.
Yes you can get your money back even though its an ACH. This could be a lawsuit against the Magness Moss Warranty of goods because the goods were not the goods represented. Sue under the Magness Moss Warranty act.
Future Ford of Sacramento did something very similar to me back in 2006. Sold me a vehicle that all the paperwork said one thing but the actual vehicle I took delivery of was completely wrong. I even said I dont want the vehicle and to bring my trade back out to me. Was told “deals a deal, pound sand” (actual statement from them). I ended up suing them and they refunded the cost of the vehicle and I kept it. Took over two years to reach that agreement and thats only because they finally figured out I was serious enough to take the case to jury trial.
Randy, I knew from the get go, you had no chance of getting the $1,000 transportation fee back. But Tesla really should do the right thing for the $500 deposit. It's just not a good experience dealing with Tesla when anything goes wrong. Even if it's their fault. Even when you have a vehicle shipped with Carmax, that transport fee has to be paid up front. If you don't like the vehicle when it arrives your only out the fee. I'm not sure why they wanted a deposit. I'd never buy a used Tesla directly from Tesla without seeing it in person first. That's a sad statement. I love my car, but the company has real growing pains concerning customer experience.
@@IxAMxABU It was, you're correct. However when you agree to pay to have a vehicle shipped it's actually a separate agreement that has nothing to do with buying vehicle itself, only the action of shipping. It's definitely a case of buyer beware. As a buyer you have to do everything to protect yourself. Especially online!
I hope this works out for you, but you have to consider - car sales are in the crapper, interest rates are sky high, and companies just don't have the interest to take care of the customer due to financial concerns. It's SUPER prevalent in cars right now, but this shit stretches all over. Mark my words, the tighter money gets - the more promises will be broken. Also, I guess we can also deduce that "direct sales" may not be much better.
That sucks Randy I'm sorry that's happening. I was just curious on the photos you show the photos to me look like stock photos or just generic photos of a Tesla did you get actually real photos of the car? Because that's how dealerships get people is they'll take a stock photo of a vehicle and it will say in small letters that this is not the actual vehicle.
Randy. Same exact thing happened to me but on a bigger scale. I am in California I went to the Fremont ca location. I ordered 10 for my private security company and did same exact thing you did. And none of the cars were what I picked I was told after 2 months of fighting it that there was nothing that Tesla would do for me and my company. I will never deal with Tesla ever again. I am just happy that I took screenshots. I never thought that this would happen. I have family that works in there asambly line and they say things about the company that is totally against labor law so I wish you the best of luck if you need anything feel free to reach out to me and I will help you out as much as I possibly can
The state that I live, I can easily win this case in the small claims court, I am willing to bet $$$ that they will never voluntarily refund you, take them to court if this is an option in your state and you don’t need a lawyer.
Randy, you can file a civil suit against them where you live and they will have to come there, and if they don't show up then you win, I've been thru that b.s. before and it's not about you filing where they are, it's about where you live and you have a claim against them, so they will have to go to court where you live because your suing them for your money back
That’s how I felt when someone pretending to be Randy scammed me by pretending to be him and saying I won a free car and I lost 800 dollars on shipping and that person deleted everything. Terrible experience , I fought PayPal until I couldn’t anymore . I reversed the charge and PayPal couldn’t take my money. I was so happy thinking that thee Randy was actually texting with me lol
Sorry you are dealing with this Randy! Any interest in publicly shaming the dealership and Tesla by seeing if the local news wants to do an “On Your Side” consumer protection news story? Monkey Wrench Mike might have some helpful contacts from his news days.
Randy, I would go to the attorney generals office of the state that you were in and/or the Better Business Bureau. Explain in detail to them on what’s going on. Have them watch these videos. That is what I do when I face problems like this and they get resolved immediately. When you do things like that, it gets sent to the highest department. Your problem will definitely be resolved going that route.
I would hire a lawyer you have the outside of the car and in the last video you showed the owners manual with the new refreshed interior. What they did was false advertisement and it makes me wonder how they treat other customers do they just sweep all their problems under the mat. I would also get the local news channel involved.
As a glazier, $1500 worth of windows is very easy to rack up on the dealership. After the third or forth insurance claim for glass, their insurance jumps more than the $1500.
I own a Model Y, and I'm listening. Maybe, you need to start an advocacy channel. You can't be the only person running into these problems, and it's definitely not just a Tesla issue. There are some slimy dealers out there it is the car industry.
Welcome to the new world Randy, how you have been treated is now the norm for corporations it seems. For the last few years especially since covid I have had to deal with several situations along the same. From cell phone companies to financial institutions. The new corporate motto seems to be screw the consumer instead of making the customer happy. They're all smiles and cheerful until a problem arises, then if there is a problem they make it EXTREMELY difficult to resolve. I am 70 years old and seniors need to be extra vigilant. I truly believe that companies make it so frustrating so u will give up. I would pursue it just like you are but many people just get frustrated and say f*** it. I am dealing with a couple situations now that I shouldn't have to deal with. The happy customer is just a myth maybe as long as things go according to the company's plans, but if problems exist good luck. Welcome to the new corporate order for the 2020's
Hi Randy, good fr you, and your subscribers. I sincerely hope that Tesla comes to their mind, kicks that sales guy to the corner, gives you your money back and give you what you purchased in the first place. I wish you and Monkey wrench mike all the best in court when it comes that far. Greetings and a belated happy new year to you and yours. Jon and Rina from Winnipeg Canada.
Randy I’m sure being a dealer yourself you know the ins and outs on compliance to consumers. I know that you are a wholesaler but there has to be guidelines. Use that info to file complaints with the state that the car was in. Also file a claim with the BBB, it doesn’t do much but it forces them to answer the complaint. Put all of your info in and make them respond, then use that if you have to go to small claims court. Good luck. Maybe see if Uncle Rich knows anyone that can help you out. Let make these videos viral for Randy!
The fact that you emailed him that you were coming back to talk in person, got there 25 minutes before close, and they were closed when you got there was a sure sign they had already planned to screw you! Someone else in this thread had a great idea, and that was to get your local news and possibly national news if possible, to pick up the story and for them to investigate and run with the story.
