Reuters just reported that it was told by three sources that Tesla is scrapping its entry level affordable electric vehicle as it's facing competition from the Chinese EV makers including BYD and will instead focus on future ways of transportation, which I am about to discuss with you in details.
Tesla did not respond to requests for comment. After the story was published, Musk posted on his social media site X that "Reuters is lying (again)." He did not identify any specific inaccuracies.

Reuters wrote a horribly distorted STORY (a Lie), apparently intended to temporarily Damage Tesla stock, for their own benefit. They should be reported to SEC and Elon could Sue for the damages $billions. What a negative Snarky hit piece. As usual Elon immediately leap frogs over them And the competition, what a Genius. The robotaxi is needed now so they can begin getting them in a testing environment. Most likely Las Vegas, tunnels first, then above ground. There is already a driverless vehicle on Las Vegas streets. The platform will be the same for the lower priced model planned. Built in the new method. It will make that vehicle after it makes enough taxis to be fleet sized for Las Vegas IMO. It needs a platform for validation, by the powers that be, to then go to other large cities. That is when you set up dedicated lines for the taxi. Smaller countries outside the EU may not be interested and people may not be ready for FSD. Then there is this thing called pride of ownership...

@Torquenews "providing an affordable car to make investors happy" is an oxymoron. It you are believing in rewarding savers than you are gonna have to wear punishing the borrowers on your sleeve. Taxis are more profitable to investors. Passive income investors is the nicest way of saying poor working ethics. It's the people doing all the work who only deserve the right to own a vehicle, and not rent a taxi. People with poor working ethics would invest in taxies. Or become a landlord. I wouldn't put it past them to rent the shirt on my back. Building investors overpriced vehicles first to fund the working class's vehicles second is bad math and not logical. Because rewarding savers is punishing the borrowers. It you are believing in rewarding savers than you are gonna have to wear punishing the borrowers on your sleeve. There is an impossible catch-22 logistics in rewarding savers with selling overpriced cars to the same investors. Well. Investors are the same ones purchasing the same overpriced cars with the same profits. Vs. Rewarding savers by renting taxis to the borrowers. So, please don't say the oxymoron of "selling affordable cars would make investors happy". Because renting taxis would make investors happy.

Taxis are more profitable to investors. And the people doing all the work dont get a car to own. To say it in a overly dramatic way, I wouldn't put it past them to rent the shirt on my back. If one is gonna be about rewarding savers, then they must wear punishing the borrowers on your sleeves. And just admitthey have no interest in building the working-cass a car. I believe Henny Ford turned down pampering the rich and decided to build a car for everyone.
