This video was shot about 3 weeks ago but was shelved for a bit due to illness and the Cybertruck event. Anyway, Tesla pushed out a software update that added even more power to their recent cars, including the Model 3. Let's go check out how much of an impact the update has!

I noticed this power increase. Last one seemed about the same.

Nice report Alex. From what I understand it’s the permanent magnet motor they replaced for the front motor that allows you to have the one pedal driving. My 2019 S is just prior to them replacing that front motor.

Yeah, the Raven powertrain in the Model S & X basically ditches the induction motor up front and replaces it with the Model 3's PMSRM rear drive unit. Thus, all Model 3 and Raven Model S & X received the one pedal driving feature.

Love the one peddle driving - However does take a little to become accustomed to it

It’s interesting the sound in the car is different after you took out everything. Does it sound very loud compared to the default?

The motor noise is much louder with everything removed (especially once the rear bench is removed).

Shucks, all they did was shave 20kw off my supercharger speed overall(head down, hands in pockets, kicking dirt while wandering off//1st world problems) 2013 S85 80k miles.

It doesn't seem like the last update has had any meaningfully negative impact on our S70D's Supercharging rate. Then again, our S isn't quite at 40k miles yet, doesn't see all that much Supercharging, and could never charge as quickly as the old S85 pack anyway.

It looks so much better without the aero hub caps imo

I do not like the one peddle driving for two reasons. Firstly while backing out of my garage with a slightly downhill drive, it stops dead each time I inch back a bit (I have to go slow as my garage is quite narrow). Secondly I found myself trying to judge the place where to totally ease off the accelerator and ending up either short or running the risk of hitting the stopped car in front. There is too much planning and concentrating needed to get this right. I have now opted for creep mode which brings me to a much more comparable stopping approach that I'm used to with my other (ICE) car.

Dennis Kavanagh, you are just inexperienced with one pedal driving. I have far more control with my EV, inching-it forward or back, far better than any ice vehicle or “non-one-pedal-driving” EV. If “creep mode” can do it, then why can’t you? That tells me it’s just your inexperience.

T Jam You’re probably right. I’ll just have to keep trying it.

I’m surprised tesla didn’t have the previous capability of regenerating down to 0 mph with one pedal driving. My Chevy bolt has had this as a part of their engineering design from the beginning, and I absolutely love it!! I only drive in this mode...the more aggressive, the better. Ideally, I want to avoid touching the brake pedal at all. Anyone that is true EVist will want maximum regeneration down to zero. You can simply adjust your desired slowing by feathering the accelerator pedal. Who “wouldn’t” want this? If you don’t like it, it’s just because you are “too used-to” the way an ice car operates....”coasts” because it “can’t” regenerate.
