We have several very big news stories to share about the red hot competition in the autonomous ride hailing business. First, Bloomberg has reported that Elon Musk was actually initially expected to share more about Tesla’s plans for their robotaxi. If it wasn’t for 2 medical emergencies at the We Robot event, Elon was supposed to include more details about Full Self Driving for Tesla’s Semi Truck, more details about the ride-hailing app and pricing for the software suites. I bet these might be shared at next week’s Earnings call instead. Second, we’ll watch video of an interview of Uber’s CEO where he said he’d love to partner with Tesla. Third, the founder of Waymo Anthony Levandowski also known as the godfather of autonomous driving just said that he’d rather be in Tesla’s shoes than in Waymo’s shoes. And that Tesla has a major data advantage having maybe 10k or maybe a million times more data than Waymo. Finally, we’ll watch Connor Cunningham from Melius Research explaining why he believes Tesla will eat UBer and Lyfts launch next year.
