Nothing wrong with a delay. They need to get this unveil right so I say take all the time you need. A subpar unveil just to meet a deadline will be waaaaay more harmful than a delayed unveil that meets or beats the hype.
@@RPhTom It's a total stock pump. A desperate attempt to prevent a stock crash after disappointing production and delivery numbers. Now the chickens came home to roost and Tesla is nowhere near ready for the Robotaxi event. By delaying, Tesla may just be avoiding having to stick a fellow in a Robotaxi suit and make him dance around on stage while making broom-broom noises.

Hence, those acting as outlets of supposed-to-be news, stating all kinds of nonsense, they should be hold liable!! All of them. Second, all the headless machine trading .... gee, it makes everything extremely fragile!! The first with the outlet is a cause while the second with machine trading is an effect. Trading TSLA has, after this long time, so very little to do with the actual company Tesla. Stock traded on appearances, unsubstantiated and malicious rumours , not facts.

Uh, no. Musk is directing the company, Musk is also a major shareholder and therefore Musk is not allowed to (try to) manipulate his own stock by law. Everybody else is free to try to manipulate the stock as they please. Bloomberg can do as they please. Another example is SMR. He's trying his hardest to talk up Tesla (bless him) and that's fine. No legal issues there. With Bloomberg, it's the same as with SMR: you can just laugh at them. With Musk, you can file a complaint (and some people did apparently, as he is under investigation for securities fraud).

Funny how you can have videos and witnesses documenting a criminal commit a heinous crime. And the news media is so careful and use words like “alleged” and “suspected”. I think if there is a delay it's more about the addition to the facility expansion for the supercomputer in Austin. The timing of that facility could be the reason if the delay proves to be a reality. It would make more sense for them to delay and have that up, and running, and operational, crunching data, etc. when they do the robo taxi launch

Please discuss the fact that there are already 5 million Tesla FSD capable vehicles on the road. 1 click and they can all be in Robotaxi service. Building a dedicated Robotaxi is an after thought.
Short sellers and option writer were getting bankrupt.This had to be done to save the shorts, wipe the longs at 250$ and now wipe out the puts at 259$. They fixed it by a fake leak…there was no one they talked to about robotaxi….this was known many days ago about possible delay in showcasing,but not the discussion on Aug 9. Anyway, they slammed all…we going be 309$ next Friday.
If the delay is real, makes me wonder if it would include "Model 2 reservations open now!" Least last heard early 2025 or potentially late 2024 with the revised plan so October would be squarely in the time window to have a short turn from unveil to units in customer hands.

I share the concern about the HW3 inference computer not being up to the task. If it’s not, the right thing for Tesla to do would be to make FSD transferable from any HW3 vehicle to any HW4+ vehicle (assuming HW4 is up to the task).
