Perfect upgrade for my $5 Harbor Freight meter. Locally it's been difficult finding a meter under $30 that's better quality than the one I already have. The Tesmen here seems easy to use and the led and backlight would be perfect for use out in a dark garage. This is definitely something I will be considering to purchase. Thanks for the review.
Thenk you for the review Todd! I got my Tasman muitlmeter today and I already used the NCV feature. Today, 3 of my outlets didn’t work with anything plugged in. The NCV function detected current by one of the outlets even though the outlet didn’t work. It turned out the outlet has RFI buttons that needed to be properly reset. After the rest, all 3 outlets work properly.
Oh, that is handy. I had that happen to me in the Kitchen. The RFI outlet was behind the Spice Rack, and I was wondering why three of my outlets were dead :)
I have a nice Fluke meter I keep in a hard case with the battery removed to prevent leakage. I ordered one of these right away because I can leave a $10 meter out and not worry about it and get instant gratification when I need a quick voltage reading. Amazing it has the high voltage sensing and also included batteries.
I just got my Tesmen TM-510 through the affiliate link. I did some readings and compared them to my Fluke 117 Meter. AC readings agree very closely (122.3 vs 122.2 AC Volts). DC readings were also very close for a new 9V battery (9.51 vs 9.53 DC Volts). A precision reference resistor (1 Mega Ohm) read 1.002 on both meters. Pretty darn good for a $10 meter.
Looks like a nice little inexpensive auto-function meter. Based on watching a ham radio YT channel, a few months ago I picked up a Kaiweets KM601 auto function, auto ranging multimeter. It's quite a bit more expensive than this one, but also is an ammeter and has a few other functions. But after getting it, one thing I realized I really didn't like about it is the leads connect on the bottom edge. When I can, I like to prop the meter up at an angle, but leads coming out the bottom makes it difficult. I like that your TM510 has the leads connecting at the front as they should!
Been an Electrician for 45 years. Love your stuff. Nice little meter for the car or truck. But for the real stuff get a Fluke. I ordered this thing right away. A real Electrician can't have to many meters.😊
Hej Todderbert thanks for the review nice multimeter and very simple and portable love that and yes a simple multimeter like this would be also nice to have take care Todderbert and have a nice thursday.
