My dad once bought a used ‘66 or ‘67 D100, white over red when I was 12. When he went to pick it up he asked me if I wanted to come with him to pick up his new hot rod pickup truck. I laughed thinking he was just joking, but I liked cars so I went. It didn’t look like a hot rod, but it sounded good when he started it up. Then when he was driving it he gave it the beans - kawaaaaaa. I was hooked. When we got home he popped the hood and in all its glory was a six-pack! For a while after that I had a lot of fun surprising my friends when I would pop the hood and show off the engine. I never asked, but I was always hoping that he open it up whenever I was riding with him. Good times.

You may appreciate that in 1983 I installed a 392 Hemi V8 into a 70 Dodge 3/4 ton PU. An extension machined onto a 318 distributor shaft works great on this. A spacer plate allows for the use of a 318 fuel pump, somebody offers an adapter to a big block Chev front cover assembly. A Ford PU 4 core radiater used 67-77 on 460 engine works good on this. The 727 Torqueflite has been adapted, a later style A/C compressor adapted, too. Mine had chrome rocker covers, it is real fun to show off! I used a Carter 625 CFM AFB carburetor.

Nick, I love to go fast. Ive raced motorcycles, drag raced cars, drove a sprint car, I was even a jockey for a couple years back in the 80s. But, I've got no desire to go fast in that old truck. Take that engine and put it in an old Charger or Cuda, take all the gasser stuff off that old truck and put it stock with a 318. You'll get 20k out of the truck and a stack of money for whatever the hemi goes in.

Definitely the longest vehicle I've ever seen sit on the lot. Been about a year and still hasn't sold. I bet you could get it for even cheaper because they want to sell this thing. I personally think it's pretty cool. At under 20k it will probably sell soon.

You're right! It's a shame they turned it into a gasser. That style is just not for everybody. But the motor is definitely worth a few bucks. And the rest is for parts. Just my opinion.

It's a cool truck, I prefer gassers to be cars, but it's different and has that 60's vibe. With some flashier paint work (pinstriping or metal flake) and some header dumps, this thing would draw attention at a cruise night.

Could be a nice driver with some modifications.(lower front,a set of OEM factory wheels and beefy tires,remove decals and blue window,headlight tint,buff and polish the paint,add smoke window tint,finish out the exhaust with some tail pipes.) Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, that transmission is fairly new and the rear end has completely been rebuilt when the transmission was done. The motor was also gone through. It doesn’t have many miles on it since. I don’t have paperwork on all that, but it feels like it and it shows. And I know the previous owner pretty well.
