I never owned a bug, but several friends did. They always started, always ran and were easy to repair. They also ran great in the snow and cold!🥶

I once had two of these cars. I used to call them my T.I.E. Fighters, They were true lifesavers when it came to saving gas, but the heaters they had were all but worthless in the wintertime

The '60s version of the Prius, my dad had one. He liked it. Back in the day a flower child hopped up his bug's engine, put huge tires on it and tried to show off in the H/S parking lot. He revved it to the moon and dumped the clutch. It wasn't tire smoke that billowed out from under the car. Bye bye clutch. Every one (except him) had a good laugh. A few years back AZN and Farm Truck had a nice running bug called The Dung Beetle. Really quick.

My father and his friend ( both German ) put a Porsche engine in a Volkswagon beetle with this huge, extremely loud muffler. One could hear him ripping around town blocks away. Ahh, the good ole 60.s. No radar and few rules. What a blast !

My sister and I shared a hand me down 68 Bug in high school in the mid 70's. Totally underpowered but still cool. $3 a head got you all night cruising and all the Miller Nips you could drink. Fit my buddy Ray and 14 girls in and on it for the $5 drive in. Had to use my sisters hair dryer to defrost the windows. Wasn't much you couldn't get from JC Whitney to fix them up.

needs a roll of welding wire on heater channels. a little buzz buzz and grind on doors too. those will always be cool though.

Loved it my first car was a68 I gave 60050dolllars for oti pulled the motor by my self g and rebuild it4bolts hold the motor in very easy to work on

They were a dime a dozen back in the day. Everybody treated them as such I miss them. I remember Big bore kits and the pinto carburetor and The rockers where the ticket if you liked to tinker. To me not worth it. Of course a stem to stern rebuild was $200 back then. And that was my 2-week paycheck working part time at McDonald's after football practice.

I owned a few VW's and I loved them. Easy mechanically to work on. I hate to say it Nick but that's a whole lot of money for a body and interior like that. Way too much rust. Too much of a project for almost $10,000. Engine sounds great though.

Was the 67 a Beetle or a SuperBeetle, standard front end or McPherson strut front end? I always liked the older style better than the newer strut style.

Sorry Nick , to much for what you all are asking for this VW. The engine all has lot to do for the price of the car .The body is not in good shape, beyond of what you all think. The window washer worked off the spare tire in those days and that is not there now, for that detracts from the price as well. The vents that you see on the floor are rusted was ment for the heat and defrost of the duct system from the engine that was disconnected. For this worked on floor handles that would work for the heat or defrost for the wind shield and that is not there. For I can go on if you wish to for VW 's or Porsha though out the years.

I grew up in California and in 1976 78 this bug most of them they put a small block 350 with 7004 transmission 4 speed automatic with a rolls royce grill with air bags with musical horns and 3500 watts of power it plenty easy put v 8 in these buggy you put in a the front and back is your trunk

A whole lot of rust but very cool because I love them. If you have a shop and do the restoration it could be worth at my prices. There is so much you can do with one, that's what makes them so cool. And they can be made very fast with enough 💰!

I must have thrown 1 dozen of those things away. No true street-rodder would have ever done more than use them in-between projects. Now, $10,000? Still glad I threw all mine away.
