I met up with Jason Sawyer and he let me take his pride and joy for a ride. The truck is a 1986, 359 Peterbilt with a 425hp CAT and a 15 speed Overdrive transmission and 36" sleeper. Truck runs like a dream, thanks for the ride Jason!
Thanks for the memories. I used to own a 1983 359. Had a cat motor, 13 speed trans, duel stacks, Chrome air breathers and that thing could haul ass fully loaded. Oh....it also had Armstrong steering and throttle lock. Man.... I miss that truck. Take care my friend.

No pollution control no computers, plenty of smoke, lot's of noise what's not to like. I had a truck pass me the other day & I couldn't even hear it. sounded like a car.
Love it! Brings some memories back for me. I never drove a 359, but I used to drive a Mack Superliner with at 36' sleeper and 440 hp. I really liked that truck even with the tiny sleeper by today's standards.
Omg, awesome video! I swear, that engine is one of the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard. That's a real truck. I feel this way when I'm driving my dad's old pickup. Hope one day I can take a 359 for a spin too.
That engine note is the Bollocks. I’ve got my 2 kids a 1980s 359 would make my life complete. Sadly I’d never be able to afford one. Bricklayers doe don’t cover it. But I’d love too drive a Pete 359 down the streets of south London. Beautiful truck thanks for posting 👍👍

What cat engine is it exactly? Want to know it for the correct selection in American Truck Simulator for the Peterbilt 359 mod ... it´s sounding amacing .... and looking soooo cool ... the 80s lives. :-)
Why to hell only 3:12 min? A vid about this truck, a vid from a cabride in this truck cant be long enough. Built in a camera, couples to a laptop and than make a long, long, long trip and record the trip complete. Verry important: driving at night with this nice red ilumination. I cant get enough from it.
How large percentage of all those dash instruments and buttons does truckers ACTUALLY ever look at or touch in those Kens and Petes...?) 20? 30? 'Temperatur of driveshaft grease niple #12' ...come ooooooooooon. Take it easy, I'm fan)
You like the truck, just because it looks good? got a red lite district finish in the cab.....or something like that? I hope it will run good and do not brake often ,- that is the most important on the truck, not the looks.And You gonna love it, maybe even love it very much, until it goes to the shop.....and then you do not love it so much.TH
