Big Thanks to Sewell Motorcoach for sponsoring this video!! SewellMotorcoach.com Doug's Cell phone number-859-613-2574 #Prevost #NewellCoach #bestofthebest Shout out to @CleetusM
I would rather have George Jones' coach just from a looks stand point. I feel it just looks better inside and out. This is what makes the world fun, we all like different things. Neither one is a bad choice it's just what you like at the end of the day.
I dont like the overhead thing blocking front visibility in the Newell. Don’t like the entry door on the Prevost. If the Prevost was mid-entry it would be perfect. Love the no-slides. Really enjoyed this episode.
Also in every provost ..that I’ve seen you loose 3 to 4 possibly 5 feet because you cannot turn those front seats so it’s lost living space …as where one you step into a Newell it’s immediate living space because you can turn those front seats ….. and for that price living space should begin as soon as you step into your coach .
One thing that is so obvious seeing you both driving together is that you both love your business and not all that many people can claim that. You are both great to watch and one thing is for sure, however much you love your coaches within weeks or months you’ll find some more interesting! You are both juxtaposed and loving the life and that alone will attract more business for you as we all watch you virtually every day. I’m not sure what I will end up buying myself but 9/10 it will be because of one or both of you. The only problem I can foresee going forward is fuel costs which may impact the lower/middle cost motorhome buyers who will see the running costs literally double or treble over the next year or so. It would be interesting to see if you can lease a motorhome for 6-12 months for new-bees to have a complete experience before investing say $200,000-$800,000 without the experience behind them of the true costs involved. Big thanks to you both.
I knew with all that time in Bradenton you’d end up crossing paths with Cleetus haha. Awesome to see you and Doug shoot the breeze over some of the finest motorhomes in the world. Way cool
Great to see your coach again and on the road, she sure looks great. Nice to hear Doug and your thoughts while driving both these two beauties. Thanks for the video. Happy trails!
That's cool you meet Cleatus, I've been following him for about 3years now about as long as I've followed your channel. This was a great video of comparison.
👋🏼 from East Tennessee! I just love going on a ride with you guys, it's just fun hanging out with you! And one thing's for sure, I always learn a whole lot that I didn't know and find out that I don't know enough! 😁 I like that mid entry door too because of the disability I have to get in and out, however, my favorite; and my husband and I are pretty much sold on, is the Provost Liberty. Thanks for the ride thanks for the fun and God bless both of you and your families and keep you safe while you're out there traveling around! 🤩🙏👏
Come on man! You guys both know the Liberty is the driver, hands down! Newell, iiiiii don't know......there is something about the mid entry that I really like! I'm not saying I prefer anything on the Newell over the Liberty, BUT it definitely has some features that would be hard to ignore! I'm always going to be Pro Liberty Coach! But in all honesty, I've recently looked at my VERY first Newell and almost pulled the trigger. Only thing that killed it, was the exterior paint had some corrosion on the slides. Great video comparison 👍👍
My take is maintenance. 20 year old coaches will need some work. I would think that a Prevost will be easier from both service and parts availability. I would go with Prevost all day long over a Newell once you get to this stage.
Loved this video guys! Andrew, I will reach out to you soon on my questions concerning Berkshires, Doug, I live in East Tn just outside of Knox, maybe we can chat about what I’m looking for. I’m coming to the Prevost show next month, hopefully we can spend a few minutes together.
I really enjoyed this video I think you guys enjoyed it more than anybody I can imagine what ended up on the cutting room floor that didn't make the edit you guys make a pretty good team back-and-forth ya'll got a little bit of preacher and salesman in you lord have mercy I think I need a diesel pusher to spread the RV gospel down the high way. Hallelujah! Peace out.
I have a 32 year Beaver Marquis 40ft and it is in amazing condition for its age. Once I got a Beaver and the Marquis was my first Beaver now I'm stuck on them. Only the 90s versions
Doug " I like the mid entry!" That's a man who knows the " GOOD LIFE!" when he see's it! Fun video! Prevost are great for Tour Bus , Newell is the ultimate COACH for the Good Life! There is a Reason Dale Jr. DW, Sr. Earnhardt, Gatth Brooks all choose Newell! AS next Newell Dale Jr's old Newell! LOL!
You could use your phone to take dB noise levels throughout both coaches and different speeds? Driver’s seat, passenger, laying on the bed in the back. That would be quite interesting
I use the app Decibel X dB sound meter. I would absolutely LOVE to see you incorporate dB’s into the test drives. Pick one speed and one location in the coach so it’s it’s always a fair comparison.
Great job guys. Very entertaining. Incidentally Doug may not know that Harrodsburg KY for a few years was the home of the late, great country singer Keith Whitley.
And I believe George Jones has another old bus in my town where you bought the liberty. It's red but a little older looking maybe 5-10 years. It has the chrome bumper on the front.
I think they are both beautiful coaches but I have to say that I've become kind of obsessed with the Newell. I like the look of the Newell as it doesn't look so bus like. I also love the interior of the Newells. Even though your Newell is 20 years old, I actually like the interior and think its rather timeless in many ways. Perhaps the carpet could be swapped out but that's about it. Great video and Doug seems like a great guy. Take care!
Great comparative video of these two land yachts! I did go back and forth trying to compare the view of both cockpits and Andrew it looks like you actually are ducking a bit under the Newell cabinet to look forward where you seem to be further back more upright and relaxed in the Prevost. The passenger area of the Newell wins for me too. Now I don't know which I'd choose! lol
Wow you are driving around Bradenton FL University Town Center. That can be tricky driving with some confusing road traffic in and out of those traffic circles. Those big motor homes moved smooth as silk. Amazing
Thanks for the comparison, I appreciate Doug for doing these little extras a salesman, making a buck and being fair and decent can go hand in hand. if I personally was in the market for a bus, it would be the Prevost, just because (and I have said many a times on your channel) I love the looks of the XL shell, anyhow if it was between an H3 and a Newell, I would go for Newell, just because, as often said, they have everything in house
Soooo.... the logical NEXT comparison is for the 2000 vs a 2022. How much different are they going down the road? Then, how different are they to live in???
I don’t know Andrew I think I would’ve went with the liberty coach. Between the two what coach do you think will hold it’s value the longest? Also your next purchase should be the madden cruiser!
I thought you were always a two hand driver Andrew. Thought that's how you learned and it was hard for you to drive one handed. Idk man.....you look awfully relaxed all one handed n stuff....lol! Nice coaches!! We're debating on a fairly used high end diesel pusher or a diesel truck and TT or fifth wheel.
Fun fact George Jones actually owned a Newell as well. It was actually in his country music video, Whose Gonna Fill Their Shoes. I think it was early to mid 80’s
New subscriber from up North in Canada Andrew. I’m really enjoying all your videos. Of course being from the North my underlying thought and question is how are these motor coaches going to do in sub 0 temperatures? I understand that if a person can afford one of these they are more than likely wintering down South. But for living full time I’d be interested in being able to live and survive in a Canadian winter if need be. Thanks again for all the informative videos. 👍🏻😎🇨🇦
Totally love this video and your honest opinions. But I’d have to remodel that bedroom. No purple for me!! 😁 I’ll wait until I win the lottery and order my new Newell. 🤪😎🤓
In that era nothing would be the drive test of a Prevost. I love the looks of that model Prevost but I would have gotten the 2 slide if im traveling with someone.
With a 20+ year old (or even an 11 year old) coach -- where can you go to park it in a deluxe motorcoach resort assuming most of the nicest ones won't allow anything older than 10 years to enter? There aren't many places you can go with a 45 ft rig. The Unity Leisure Travel Van excels with places to park it for the night. But, of course, it's like living in a sardine can.
Most Parks, send them a picture of the rig, and it's no problem. However, there are a great many other options to include dry camping that these rigs can do for up to a month easy using those 20kw generators and 200 gallon fuel tank.
I was wondering what happened to George Jones bus. I've always wanted to see the inside. I drove by it all the time before it got bought. Why didn't you buy the chair?? Lol
Either one is great. They used to say that you drove a Prevo but you lived in a Newel. Truthfully Prevo sounded quite a bit quieter and less noise from bumps, but the slides account for some of that. Maybe make a deal for the Leisure van and the Newel for a Liberty. You DO DRIVE a lot more than you stay in one spot. The head banger would bother me and im only 5 ft nine. CHEERS Steve h.
Best feature of both coaches is neither have DEF and all the problems associated with it. Hope all those stainless panels on the XL are fastened securely.......
The 20 year old newell body style reminds me of a bread truck or something 🤔 I'd pick the Prevost for looks and style. Also, the low ceiling above the driver area would be really annoying. I do like the newer Newell body style much better.
Now that I've seen this video I think u made the right choice going gc with the Newell and it will be even better with the update I'm sure u will be doing
I am a subscriber. Really enjoyed the video. I would like a Newell but 2004 or later when the steerable tag came out. The newer newell's with the zf suspension has closed the gap on ride and drive quality. Just my 2 cents.
Just curious, why do you prefer non slide coaches? Is it because there's less moving parts to fail? I figured with more than one person and possible animals you would want to have as much room. Now you got me thinking!
Depends on how you use them. If you're a highway warrior and not living full time in it, non-slide is perfect. Full timing, slides make a huge difference in livability however in the Newell those slide seals need replacement every 8 to 10 years - costing about 7 to 10k per slide since the slide has to be removed for the procedure.
Well first you are comparing two slides with none. Each slide will add weight and noise. The prevost will have the advantage with the true monocoque chassis. The Liberty full bus air is the only one that will really keep you cool in Az summer. But Andrew, look at the exteriors - one is a timeless work of art and the other is not. I get a “I love your looks” tickle every time I look at the my 2002 Liberty. There are some other great reasons to own neither one.
I like the looks much better on the Prevost. From your looks alone From driving both coaches I would say the Prevost is better, but I am a Liberty owner so I am partial. Lol
I must say Andrew, you appear to be a whole lot more relaxed driving a 20 year old Prevost vs a 2022 Prevost. Lol. I don’t think you can go wrong with either coach.
"Newell....The Official RV Coach of NASCAR!" Lol. So many Nascar drivers have bought Newell Coaches that Newell should create that 👆 as their slogan. Lol.
Ugh!!!!! I like the liberty’s windshield I like the mid entry of the Newell. I love the outside look of the Liberty. I like the history of the Newell and definitely the slides. Ugh...........the insides of the liberty looks more modern and timeless. Ack ugh what do you doooooooooo their both cream of the crop. Huhhhhhhhhh you can be happy with both but I think the liberty needs less updates oh man I think........I like the liberty and I think in the long run the liberty will cost you less in updates. I don’t like that theirs no slides but, you don’t have to deal with the slides. The lifting tag will save on tires long run. What to do look at the numbers he can run for you. If the price difference is cheaper than the updated on the Newell go liberty all the way ya know.
LOL! Give it a zero percent chance you sell/trade your Newell. But two great coaches - you could NOT go wrong with either!! Wish I could make it down to Tampa. Just not gonna happen. Work has gotten out of control.
Andrew Steele is like Doug Sewell where everything has a price…if you can sell your Newell for more than what you paid for it…Go for the 20 year old non-slide Liberty…just run it by Shay before you sell the Newell…👍
Newell all day long!! Just upgrade the interior and rims.’ The prevost looks like every other old bus conversation out there, and some of those old prevost as are cheap as $10,000.
Andrew, take your coach back to Newell and have them go through it with You Tube video. They know you and it would be good advertisement for them and for you.
Guys have a mechanic look at that steering wheel it sounds like something needs to be greased. I don’t think “that’s just the way it is” lol! I don’t think a premium coach manufacture is going to make a coach with a steering wheel that makes noise.
Cheaper. Fewer parts. Easy to replace. Opens up more storage space. shorter ducting, shorter wiring, the heat produced rises straight up away from coach, more energy efficient.
Hey Andrew and Doug. You know when you have looked as sooo many coaches your more confused then when you started? Looking from 250 - 350k. Do you buy 2012 - 2018 class A production coach or 2002 - 2007 custom????? If i had hair it would be gone. Lol.
newell wins it got mid entry. companies keep putting door by passengers seat. i mean a gas class a has a mid door. I've seen 1970s winnebagos still around.
