There is smoke coming from the burning charcoal, the smoke you don't get it's from the fat being dropped over the burnt charcoal which causes the dense smoke. Plus, you do get the flavour from the charcoal on the meat with this one!
in cooking the steaks it doesn't look hot enough... this is basically the hassle of coal, with the flavour of gas! why the hell does he keep turning the steaks, he's ruining them!!!! they look grey!
if there is no smoke... what's the point? it's like a gas bbq without gas handiness. ... the extra effort of a charcoal bbq, with the flavour of a gas one... but without the gas convenience. what exactly is the plus with this? what does this have that a gas bbq does not?
if there os no smoke, what's the point of using coal? this seems like a gas effect with the extra effort of coal... this is like the worst of both gas and coal, it has the lack of smoke you get with gas, but the requirement for coal and clean up of a charcoal grill...
Can someone explain the difference between lotus and tayama version? Besides the overpriced lotus because tayama version is $50 to $70 bucks USD. I missed out last week when it was on sale for $44 bucks.
Anthony N if it's an exact product with minor differences it's most likely the same manufacturer just that someone buys bulk and wants their name on it ,lots of products are like this.
