If the muppet in the car had dropped back a bit and not tailgated the bus he/she would have had a good view of the road ahead without having to straddle the white line! Good review

Fantastic review, totally on point. I just bought a 2016 model today, only rode it for a couple hours and I noticed the front brake not having much feedback. Great bike though, still getting used to it of course. And yes it rips, saying that coming from a CBR900RR.

Thanks for a great review. Saves me a test ride! I had to sell my Triumph Sprint due to the clutch knackering my left hand. Granted that was after a couple hours riding around the Cumbria hill roads, two up, but a heavy clutch is a no go for me! Funny that Suzuki were supposed to have taken surveys from Suzuki owners and asked them what they wanted in this new model? Nobody must have mentioned the clutch? Looks like the slip assist clutch on the Tiger Sport will win me over now! Cheers ride safe!

+Graham Wood Yeah it does look like a fun commuter. The pillion seat was microscopic though, so a pillion might not be so impressed with the bike.

Great review. Nice to hear and see a review on & in road conditions not race tracks. For that alone I subscribed. Respect to you. I have had my eye on this bike but I'm resisting based on the choice of K5 engine. Not that is is not good but why Suzuki did not use more 'current' engine design. Now I am fully aware the history & choice in K5 but it sits uncomfortably with me. The other reason is that I'm not that spirited of a rider. Having said that I have not ruled out buying the bike in 2016. It is well placed price wise here in Australia (AUD$16,000.00). Respect and rides safe.
@MunkehsMotors

+Gabriel Johannson Thanks! The bike does like to be ridden hard, the the throttle is quite keen and you end up going rather quickly all the time.
@MJWVI

Suzuki very cleverly used the K5 as it's their showcase engine. Has been for years and they know it. Masterpiece.

Great review and cracking bike. If I didn't have to consider 'er indoors' comfort on the back I think this would definitely be on the shortlist. As it is though, the Z1000sx is on the cards for me. I've ridden both and as you say, they have very similar performance specs - the Suzi being slightly higher on power and the Kawa having slightly more torque. The '16 spec Kawa has slipper clutch though which makes the clutch action much lighter than on the GSX and the Z's touring option basically seals it for me. Make no mistake though, the GSX-S is a lovely bike (especially in the blue) and I'd have one at the drop of a hat.
@MunkehsMotors
@MunkehsMotors 8 лет назад
+Z1000Jeff Thanks! Yeah I had great fun on both bikes but I did find the Z1000sx more comfortable, and I'm sure I would have gotten used to the clutch on the Suzuki after a few days.

@nothingtoseehere4902 7 лет назад
Robert Parisi I have ridden both of them. The Suzuki is way more powerful and is harder to ride in traffic but it is excellent on highways and twisty roads. The Honda would be a better bike for commuting but you might get bored with the lack of torque.
@columkenn
@columkenn 6 лет назад
nothing to see here Almost every review mentions the jerky throttle. Most of these for sale in the used market make reference to the jerky throttle. If it has a jerky throttle it should be mentioned. I wouldn't call those guys assholes.

Nice review...a bit confused about the clutch comments though. Others have said that the clutch pull is so light that it takes getting used to. Perhaps there is some anomaly in the particular clutch of your test bike.
@MunkehsMotors
@MunkehsMotors 8 лет назад
+MrVtwinTorque Maybe, or maybe my clutch had is out of shape. Since moving house my commute has gone down to a 10 minute ride each way, by the end of this review I had been riding about 3 hours so I may have just been tired out. Will need to get a stress ball to build up my endurance!

Excellent review. Bookends ends the "44 teeth" review. Very positive for the machine. Update on the throttle; the 'snatch' can be dialled out now.There's a shed load of aftermarket screens on the market too. Ohlins and a full Yoshimura system with Mitchy Pilot Powers or PR4's...away you go.
@Neutronb0mb

Marty W out of interest how can it be dialled out? Test rode one last week and found the fuelling very jerky and the wind protection terrible....that engine though 😃

Had looked at one of these after a recommendation. Have concluded this bike is useless as a "sports tourer". A bike that doesn't take pillion or luggage very well is fuck all use for touring. Nice bike for daily commute, sporty riding but not really a tourer like Z1000SX or R1200RS etc. They should alter the marketing or adjust the bike so it can tour if they want boost sales.

Nice review!,.. A pity about the lost footage, but hey,... I'm currently thinking I'll make either the Suzuki GSX-S1000F or the Kawasaki Z1000SX my next bike. Not ridden either of them myself yet, so for me it's on looks alone at the moment, but the Kawasaki is winning!,.. You're right about that bird like look of the Suzuki, the other colours are better, but that black and red is a bit 'angry birds'.
@MunkehsMotors
@MunkehsMotors 8 лет назад
+4649Steve Yeah I do prefer the look of the Z1000SX, but the Suzuki has grown on me.

Just look at the reviews, they speak for themselves... GSX-S 1000F all the way ! I have been on both but I guess it all depends on what you are looking for. What did you end up getting ? if any?
@liamcollister
@liamcollister 8 лет назад
3:30, that car was getting a better view of the road ahead, you get taught things like that when you take your advanced license. That driver wasn't at all in your way and pulled back as soon as you were visible! I'm sure you do the same on your bike without realising it.
@MunkehsMotors
@MunkehsMotors 8 лет назад
+Liam Collister Yeah I didn't think of that. They didn't cause me to have to swerve or brake, was just a bit of a shock.
@flibbertigibbet6200
@flibbertigibbet6200 8 лет назад
+Liam Collister No they do not tell you to cross the white lines on corners to see around busses pmsl say he was further on and he pulled out to look ahead as you put it, On a bend like that he would have wiped him out if he was nearer the lines. impatient knob jocky that he was. You do not need to get better views of the road ahead when you are following other vehicles, he was looking for an overtake on a shit bend.
@edwardtcrump5312
@edwardtcrump5312 8 лет назад
+Liam Collister Absolutely not. Yes, positioning yourself out slightly towards the middle of the road to get a better view of the road ahead is something worth doing sometimes for a left hander, but not if your view is blocked by a fucking bus. They would tell you to safely hang back in that situation, not to drive right up the busses ares and hang out halfway into opposing traffics lane, around a left hander that you can't see around because there is a bus fucking blocking your view. That is just idiotic. Yeah, he pulled in, no it's not the end of the world. But it isn't him being safe or clever, it was him impatiently swinging out round a blind corner looking for an overtake.

Jerkey throttle ? "...........then don't use first gear, don't need to with an inline four, the bike will happily move off or bimble in second. This suzuki could well be the best looking sports naked on the market at the moment. Prefer the F version with the slight fairing though.

Great Video!! I'm really interested in this Suzuki GSX-S1000F and the Kawasaki Z1000SX but I can't decide. I see you test rode both. I know that they are both fast and have plenty of torque but which of the two do you think is a better bike in terms of seating comfort, clutch lever comfort, and upright riding position comfort? Also, which had a better throttle response between the two?
@MunkehsMotors
@MunkehsMotors 8 лет назад
+WildRider From what I can remember I found the Kawasaki more comfortable and a bit less aggressive than the Suzuki. I didn't have the chance to test out either bikes traction control so can't comment on which has the best electronics. I think I would personally go the the Kawasaki, but would strongly recommend that you test ride both and see which one fits you best. They're both great fun!

I think the bike looks great, better than other sports-tourers, Z1000sx and R1200RS. But this really is not a tourer. Only complaint on the looks is the low beam headlights, only 1 works rather than both.

@bennyg2211 7 лет назад
In your opinion, what's this bike like compared to the speed triple?
@MunkehsMotors
@MunkehsMotors 7 лет назад
From what I can remember, the Suzuki is a bit taller geared. So the Triumph feels more powerful low down in the revs, but the Suzuki had nice power at the top end. So depends on your riding style which bike you would prefer I guess. I preferred the low down torque of the triple compared to an inline 4. I would, as always, recommend trying them both and see which you prefer.

R11 sounds better. I have 2018 Z version and 3rd is mostly fine around 50 ks and 60+ fourth. LOL at the inadequate 'Go Pro'. F**k that ass hole, if he cant live life behind a bus he should have brought a bike. Yep lane splits like a demon or bat out of hell if ur seeing it lane splitting\filtering from behind, then disappearing like gone, gone, gone(the song). Yep, sound is great but aftermarket is especially nice like the R11 Yoshi Japan (owned by Suzuki). Spongy and play before bite of brakes can be alleviated with different pads and full hydraulic oil lines. (or just learn the quirk and get use to bike). Agree about clutch while easier with the slipper (2018 model) on long rides it starts to hurt. Left it stock and shorty for brake only. Well i love the snatch in lower gears thankfully it is not there third through sixth (unless you ask for it, LOL). The naked is more Transformer\Bat looking. IMO the blacked out version is the best looking GSX s1000z and can be fitted with aftermarket screens of various heights for those doing a lot of H/W miles that don't like wind turbulence. Thanks for ur review it's one of the many like this had me purchase as such.I only hit one bad review out of so many and concluded the guy was somehow mistaken. Ride safe.
