Daz is great, but yeah, it still needs a lot. Animated textures and surfaces, native hair control through sliders for animations.

Well, I counted about 2-3 animated shots that weren't half bad. I scoured the internet for Daz animations that were impressive. There are very, very few.

Is it from the lack of IK? Do the bridges fix that? Or is it that real animators just use other apps so there isn't enough skilled representation?

Iray is good and all but is really demanding, there are plenty of other engines that do similar jobs for a fraction of the time without the limitation on the gpu. Most people go with Cycles (Blender) using Daz just for the models, don't get me wrong Daz is not bad at animations, is just the rendering part takes too much time. Also, not blaming on Daz but Nvidia is the one that needs to work more on their engine.

That's actually easy to create for comics all you need is your story. Create your characters and scenes in Daz. I do my postwork in Photoshop and you can either use it to create your pages or use a comic software. Comic software has speech bubbles or you can create them in Photoshop.

That's only going to improve if nVidia develops it more, the render engine is bundled and used by Daz, but is not a Daz product.

@@heveycreations4197 I don't think it's bad. Not at all. I just wished it was faster. I have a pretty high level computer, and it still can take hours to days, to complete some tasks, using IRAY.

@@PhilW222 I think they should implement AMD ProRender in daz for AMD users. Its very frustrating to render on CPU although i have Ryzen 7 3800XT and RX 6800xt(bought it cuz RTX is out of stock in my country) but sometimes it takes hours to render a scene.

It's a nice alternative for new proffesionals, but more Fremium than free, yes the program is free, but everithing you need, models, clothes, etc, have to paid for, again, not really expensive, if you plan to use it for your work, but i won't recomend it for amateurs, or just 3d entusiasts.

@@maschenny28 Blender it's the best alternative, since if you are looking for Daz you are not into direct modelling or industry standar simulations, just posing and rendering, Blender will do the trick.

Daz3d is advertised as working with Mac OS. However, it does not work with the current Mac OS - even though the OS was release on November 12, 2020. Daz3d has abandoned Mac users.

Wow. That Timeline preview was so *FAKE*. The timeline is still utterly broken. Often copying or deleting Keyframes doesn't work at all and it crashes DAZ on a whim. (and the preview never looks that fluent)

First limit. Still no Linux. I spent thounsand, if not tens of thousand on DAZ before 2007. Haven't bought a thing since you broke from Poser support. I did however learn to model an rig in Blender. I still miss browsing for cool things I might never use. I would go back to buying stuff if there was linux support.
