Owned one of these for a few years and loved it. Original except for paint, started and ran strong every time. Miss it!

Easy to see, Packard was a cut above all the competition, A quality build.

Even today they show more style and class than all of the Toyota lookalike cookie cutter junk. None of today's carp will be running nearly as long as this car has.

One of my college professors drove one to campus every day. He said that he hoped to have it for the rest of his life. That's devotion. My grandparents had "senior" Packards and one of the cars in which I learned to drive was a Caribbean.

I'd never seen the interior of a '48 Packard before. Looked very nice and still upscale.

That car is a nice looking 1948 Packard. There was one noticeable transmission problem. When slowing down in second gear, the transmission popped out of second into neutral. Since I am an older person I have seen this type of problem with manual transmissions, where the transmission will pop out of gear.

It needs a trans rebuild. As a young man just out of High School, I had a job driving a tree service truck that did that same thing.

I hope this channel is still alive. My 48 packard drivers door will not allow me to open it. It's been sitting for 10 years. Used to work fine. 67k miles, CA car that was being driven by original 1948 buyer (CA)... until 1985. Any suggestions? Do these latches historically fail over time? Thanks for any advise

My second car was a 1948 Packard. I was 16. It was the best business deal I ever made. I bought it for $20 and sold it for $50. Hell of a profit margin.

Beautiful automobile. Love Packard's good and solid. Learned to drive in a 49 wish my grandad had left it to me in his will.

Nice door panels. The lines on these panels are hard to replicate. Wish this car had an overdrive. Would have been nice to see more of the dash in operation, i.e. blinker lights, night instrument lights, radio, clock, glove compartment light, etc. What about a look at the engine?

Very beautiful car. It shows its high quality American high-end car from the golden age. Some comments: They never showed the engine running. Instead they used time to show the trunk. When trying to hold the car at second speed, the lever jumps to neutral. There is significant wear. Requires at least one pine nut work. During the long trip in this Packard, they permanently showed the clock, which is not interesting. They never focused on the speedometer, it's much more interesting to see how fast this cute car is moving.

It's a Packard inline 8. Videos of the engine running are completely underwhelming. They run so smooth you can balance a coin on the head.

Nice overview of this classic Packard. I am curious, you looked in the trunk, what is the reason for not looking at the engine compartment? The Packard sounded okay, given the quality of the audio. I know some Packards are a bit louder than what we are accustomed today's engineering. Given the time, 1948, I do not know if this Packard was any louder than GM, Ford, Chrysler, or AMC. Nice job.

If a Packard is loud, it is a very high mileage unit, as Packard was famous for being ghostly silent.

The radio antenna is NOT correct for this car. It should be mounted at the top center right above the windshield and have the capability to swivel so it can clear garage doors and other low overhangs. Otherwise, whoever restored this beautiful classic did an awesome job! I had a '50 model until some anal born kids got into it while I was away at basic training and destroyed the interior. Ir was so bad that nobody would attempt the repairs so it was scrapped. I have a perfect place for those sob's to spend eternity!

Sad that it was scrapped. Must have been well before the 70s, when 50s cars started becoming valuable.

Love the music, but a popular band of 1948 would have better presented the Packard in its era.

I have owned 3 22nd & 23rd Series Packards and overall it's a nice looking car with a great paint job. This car looks like it is a Deluxe Standard Eight. The color is a bit off, could be the camera, as the original was not as pea green as this one. Also, the cloth they used for the seats is incorrect as the original was a wool stripped broad cloth. It looks like they used something like a modern textured velour cloth. All of mine had overdrive and that makes a world of difference when driving with modern cars on the freeway as mine would do 75 to 85 with no problem at all.

Did not like the color, though it could find popularity in the Middle East. Large cars of this era look better in darker colors, like dark green, cherry or shiny black

It was not a thing of beauty, but that is not what killed them. The continuing production of cheaper-than-luxury cars did that by destroying Packard's image of total luxury. The 6 cylinder 110/115 of 1937 planted the seeds of destruction. It never should have seen the light of day, at least not as a Packard.
