There is no hard evidence that shows that food has to do with testicular tumors. If the dog is already diagnosed, you need to proceed with removing the cancerous testicle (perhaps both would be a good idea). You said you are “considering” surgery? I hope you went ahead and moved fwd promptly as cancer can spread very quickly reducing chance for survival.

Never a bad idea to take him to the vet. Worst case scenario the veterinarian tells you that the testicles are normal.
