I used to have a sand rail powered by a 1600 boxer 4-cylinder Volkswagen engine, it would never pop a wheelie but I thought it was pretty fun for an 18 year old
Well thanks youtube recommendations. Today I learned a little somethin about sand cars. 1. They exist and 2. They look insanely fun. That's what I like about youtube, ya learn stuff.
Goodgoddam! Mental note, let of gas to steer😁 Chuckle really people asked why don't you go way out in the dunes to test!?!? All it takes is once, the lone person walking through the dunes back to the trailer. Wheres the car? Uhhhhh, about 4 miles out burried to the frame with a broken axle. Ohhhh. How we gonna get it back??.....😬
Only tricky thing with the sand is that the lighting is so flat often when the sun is high so you really can't see the more moderate bumps and drops in such, but it is fun as shitt to be out there on such an enormous playground
Is this one of those deals, if you ask how much for one, you probably can’t afford it. Yes, that would be my case. Looks like a blast to drive one of these!
yes ok, much fun and all that by the looks of it, buuuuut why do you put engine behind rear axle? whats the point of having all that horses if all theyre gonna do is a wheelie?
LOL I don’t know what to say but is there anyway you can make more videos about Linemen i’m starting Lineman school this August was just wondering if you could make more videos of Linemen and as always love your videos bro keep up the great work and have a great day
hey mate what gearbox are you running behind this? i run 1000hp V8 sand drag bikes but its a limited sport, this would be a hell of a lot of fun for me and my family. motor is a 427 1000hp direct injection methanol motor, should be a lot of fun in say an 11/4" frame, running 2X 20" paddles. We run a Crower tractor pull clutch in the bikes so its on straight up no gears but this has made me think outside the bike box.
Can someone explain the concept of this please big motor flat sand! Drag racing in the sand?? Borring, do something, hill climb it, rock climb it, Race it Baja 500- 1000 , might as well go race it on the salt flats, borring
Hey guys I have a sand rail but am trying to put a v6 or a v8 in but I can't find a transaxle. So I was wondering if you could help me, What kind of transaxle are you using?? Thanks so much!!
Where do you get your motors done? In house or outsource? I have a 454 sitting that I want to either turn into a rat rod or turn into a rail. As you noticed why I am here, I like Rails and with 3 kids and my past of going to Glamis and loving competition hill on my modified Banshee back in the day, I am looking to bring that kick to my kids. Any help would be great and thanks for your time.
Brake...Just for the rear... but to me brakes on a 1000hp light weight death machine is for pussys. They can use their massive egos to slow it down. Lol
Those things are bad ass and would be fun as hell. I dont get the whole rear engine setup though. Wouldnt they hook up better as a mid engine? They wouldnt have to be sooooo long then either, more driveable. Wheelies are wasted power, at least in a drag car. Not being a hater, just not educated in sand toys.
Not trying to be a smartass or anything but why do you need 1000 hp for? Our 140 corvair dune buggy could do everything that buggy can do. Except for maybe lol 100 plus miles an hour. And didnt cost 50 plus grand. Just wondering
I just dont understand wasting a day (plus a lot of money) drinking beer and pulling wheelies is all about, then having to go home and unsand everything from yer ass to the gear box. not even a trophy winning race for a day of....wheelies? No thank, guess ill stick to more interesting motorsports that actually have an end goal :)
@@Hydro4201000 50 grand for just the motor? Holy sheep shit, think my old man lmao only spent 500 on the corvair motor and thats with it being blue printed and balanced bahahahaha. Dont get me wrong would love to have one of those buggies but I'd have to sell a testicle and my ol' lady to be able to afford one
RIP Engrish and I bet you'd shit yourself if you had a ride in that thing, wheel spin is not the issue but the front lifting is. In sand you will always spin even with paddles on.
