I like option 3 the most, but i would add a console table or something decorative behind the couch so that it's not so blank, and so that the couch feels more grounded in the space and less floaty ☺️
1 looks the most open and best from the kitchen. 3 looks the best when you’re in the space because you can see the fireplace and bookshelves with symmetry and actually watch something on the TV too
I love option 2 since the flow through the living room and onto the patio is more natural. 😊 (In option 1, the couch is "blocking" the doors, and in option 3, you have to walk around the couch to get into the living room)
Option 3 I love how you can sit on the couch and see the fireplace straight on especially in the winter and if you wanna feel a little more cozy you can sit in a chair next to the fire place❕❗
1 and 2 are for those houses where people have extra living rooms that they don’t use. 3 is the only option here if you actually want to hang out and watch tv ever.
3. Couch facing the fireplace & shelves. It balances the largest piece opposite the largest focal feature. And the chairs and ottomans are perfectly positioned. The table is a good "anchor" in the middle of all the furniture and focal points of fireplace&shelves and windows.
The transitions in the video are great! :) I personally like the 3rd optiom the most but would also add as a lot of people suggested some console table or maybe even a narrow antique dresser behind it to anker it better in the space and have a seperation to the entryway. An additional rug running from the door to the hallway could also help seperate the two spaces more :)
2nd 1 is better... already suggested it the last time. it does not block the kitchen view and it is not like closing off the french window leadng to the side of the house. 😍
Option 3 is the best for living. You need a sofa/library table so 1. Your cream couch stays cream and 2. Ground the entryway as a separate space. Two defined spaces in one open area.
Definitely #1. The wall with the fireplace and bookshelves is clearly the focal point and you don't want to block it or cut it in half with the back of the sofa. The windows on the right are lower so the chairs are better here not to block the view. Sofa on the left to take up expanse of the longest wall and create a "hallway" behind it for traffic between doors. I would get a larger rug so all the legs of the furniture fit on it. I know it's tricky since sizes are limited. You can order a wall to wall carpet to fit exactly right and have the edges bound. That will give it that designer touch. It's a beautiful room! And your furry little helper is so cute. 😊
I think option 2 🎉🎉 it open the room up and highlights your amazing fire. How beautiful to see the fireplace when cooking in the kitchen. ❤️😍❤️👏👏👏❤️😍❤️ but it will really also depend on when your new chairs arrive. I love the ottomans as extra sitting. 🎉
1 or 2. Three blocks the beautiful work from being views when in the kitchen. I like the look of looking im and seeing free space nothing blocked. Cooking behind the island can view tv or see the fire place crackling. Or see beautiful holiday decorations while entertaining guest or watching the kids run about while making holiday cookies etc.
I like the couch facing the windows in option 1, but I recently switched my living room around, so my couch is more open to the door. It opened the space a lot. I can't tell if there are 2 doors, but I think option 3 might feel the nicest.
I think option 2 looks the best, as it seems like the most functional. Option 3 isn’t bad, but a console would definitely need to go along the back of the couch! :)
I think 3 when you get your new chairs with a sofa table. I really like the chairs you have now but as you stated they are for your bedroom. Anything you do is beautiful. Some things I think, what is she doing. Then you do it and its gorgeous. Do whatever siutes you as a family.
If you didn’t have a tv, I love the first one. But the last one is ultimately more comfortable for tv watching. Add a console table with minimal decor behind it.
Think whats happening is the first two are more pleasing from a video standpoint, but the last one probably looks and feels like the best option while inside the living area
1 and 3. 1 because when you enter through the porch door, you're able to appreciate the 2 chairs with the beautiful windows behind them. 3, because you have a comfortable view of the fireplace and TV if you're using the space often
Rather than how the living room looks from afar, i would go with whichever seat you are going to spend the most time in should have the best view. Option 3 offers the best version of symmetry and the best view of the room if the seat you are planning to spend the most time in is the sofa, the fact you have to walk around it to get into the sofa also means you have a natural visual seperation from the rest of the house once you are seated, making it cosier and for me personally more comforting to delineate the space that way. If the back of the sofa is too plain, you can always add a small wooden console with books and flowers to zhuzh it up
Option 3 seams to look the best because it separates the living room in its own little way without having a wall. but I’d get rid of the foot rest. My opinion.
Layout 2 is much lighter on the way to the doors. The couch looks so nice by the windows. In layout 3…the fireplace is hidden as well as the shelves and feels super heavy.
I love the first one, it looks more open and the fact that the sofa faces the windows creates a better visual balance compared to the second layout. Love the furniture choice too !!
My 2 cents , if you’re going to have the sofa and chairs facing, then the sofa back should be to the wall that doesn’t have a door entry (less used pass thru). If your expecting interaction with people in the sitting area and the kitchen, then don’t back the sofa to the kitchen. I have a small (small) apartment and - to define my kitchen - I on purpose, backed the sofa to the kitchen.
The 2nd layout is my favorite. I like how to light that is coming from the windows reflects on the couch. The space feels cozy while you can see the beautiful fireplace and coffee table. 🥰♥️🫶🏻
2nd one. It opens the space up and I know you didn’t want the couch on the opposite side because it doesn’t allow enough room between the couch and the wall. The third is to enclosed for me. So 2nd one is my vote. ❤
