12 carrier swinging over 50…..now put the meter in avg or whatever you decide to call it….take it off peak….and watch it backswing…..and remember that backswing when a stock cobra 25 at 18 watts will talk just as far and sound better doing it….I love the 33 platform and have done or seen about everything there is to do to one over the years…..turn that down to about 8 watts carrier and it should swing 35-40 watts….it will sound better last longer and be more efficient overall….too many techs chop them up and overdo them for no reason
great channel and info mate. quick question. do truckers really get a licence for the 10 meter radios? are they that much better than a regular CB? Whats involved in getting a licence? What are the best couple of regular CB radios for me to get. Im gonna be putting into a freightliner coronado Cheers mate
Very few bother with an amateur license. Yes, 10 meter radios are that much better. The send, receive, power, options are all better. For just a plain 11 meter cb a Cobra 29 classic or next step up the Anytone AT-6666. I have videos on the Anytone and the Coronado.
@@jrichtruckincbtips yeah been watching a lot of your stuff on the coronado including the grounding etc. I got an option to buy a Galaxy DX959 for $200 is that a decent price ? its obviously an older one. cheers mate
You always hook radios up to the battery. Your 20 watts is a big jump. You also always use heavier gauge wire for power. The wire that comes with most radios. Throw in the garbage.
