The life straw actually is extremely reliable, it’s been proved by many people that it is safe to drink as they look at the dirty water under a microscope and there were massive amounts of bacteria and then they put it through the life straw and viewed it under the microscope again and there was absolutely no bacteria at all and it was completely safe drinking water
Just a small note, itsnot distilling the water (i.e. altering the taste) but removing up to 99% of bacteria, and parasites. That why they tasted the more or less the same
It’s more to cleanse it from bacteria than sediments and ph. It’s really simple to clear that out though, as all you need to do is put a cloth and charcoal in a colander on top of a pot.
It should be noted that these straws are for either if you are in a life or death situation (where it's better than nothing) or for people in places with tougher stomachs... so it'd clean the water okay fine....
Life straws work surprisingly well at remove all the harmful bacteria and parasites, but the real challenge is tricking your mind to actually drink from a river with it
Lifestraws work. There is better ways to use them tho. You normally fill a bag, drop in tablets and let it sit then filter that thru the straw. I've seen dark brown muddy water become completely clear and clean.
You're assumimg that the first two liquids were just stuff in an aqueous solution, but this is not the case. There are many compounds im drinks (syrups, emulsifiers, etc) that are liquid but not water. So if their molecules can "fit" through the filter, then it's not going to magically become water. Sticking a LifeStraw in a bottle of Jack will not alchemically transmute your whiskey 😂
