I didn’t realise they were that simple. Most of the videos I’ve seen require it to plug into a chart plotter to work and I don’t have an up to date one that is compatible so it’s just been left in the boat in it’s box 😂 incredible definitely fitting it now as it’s only power and fitting it to the deck!

Hi there. So the better models like the tp20 have a data line that plugs into chart plotters, compasses etc, however you don't need to. Only things I had to play with were needing to move the unit back a bit on the tiller. The boat is so light it needs better response and tiller input. The other thing that really helped was playing with the sensitivity settings. Made it much better. On a recent trip on the sea I had it working for 30 mins at a time no problem

@@SailingWithDave she will be aboard a mirage 28 with very easy direct steering and a very beamy sail, so will hopefully work like a dream!

Hi Dave - really enjoying your videos! I notice (I think) that all your testing was done with the centre-plate up. I think you'll find a big difference with the plate down (i.e. in sailing mode). It'll give the boat a whole lot more directional stability and at the same time make it easier to steer by giving it that defined pivot point.

Hi Steve! Many thanks and good to hear from you. That was by accident if I did that!! I took a tip from you actually and I like to put the CB down about 2/3rds when beating and maybe 1/2 down when reaching. Maybe i'll try experimenting with how much I put down when using the spinnaker.

I’m quite impressed by the clarity and vibrant colors of this new DJI camera you use. A world of a difference compared to your GoPro. Curious to your opinion on this. DJI is the way to go?

To be honest I have been struggling with GoPro for years and at last DJI have finally brought out a worthy competitor. All my videos have been using DJI cameras from about 12months ago. I need to do a video on them which I will try and do in the next couple of weeks, however I would say for battery life, lack of bugs and the price, DJI cameras are just better in every way. I will not be going back to GoPro!
