Is one type of essential oil diffuser jewelry better than another? I would have said no, but after putting 4 types of pads (felt, leather, bisque clay, and lava bead) to the test my answer has changed.
Felt pad was the surprise winner with decent scent retention, quick absorbency, easy to change scents, and no smell of its own.

Did you remove the wax from the lava rock?

Hi, I bought unwaxed lava beads and have since tested with lava beads from an artisan jewelry maker as well (same result, can't use the necklace because it doesn't fully absorb). I am curious if you know a technique for removing wax, as I have some waxed ones as well.

@@catherinepci7594 I love you've investigated this by the way. The best way to remove the wax I found was this video, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R2Xwvp2xy-g.html I tried it and stood true. I actually bring the water to where it just starts to boil then take it off the heat and drop the rock in a strainer in the pot. Pretty much all the same but I found using a small strainer made it easier.
