Yeah that's good and everything about them trading their food but I just want to say you are incredibly lucky to be able to eat all the MR e's that you want.
French here : i'm litterally shocked by the good stuff our military have ! Product here are just typically French ! The beans with the sausage are cooked in duck fat that's why this is good. The candy you love is a fruit paste with a lot of sugar. And the tuna thing is used by the civilian to make sandwich also. Very good stuff

I am French, and it seems that our military rations are very good, and that during a conflict, some, like American soldiers, gladly exchange their ration for that of the French. Otherwise what you eat for dessert and that you love, seems to be fruit paste, and in the small box it seems to be dried prunes (very good for transit, I recommend them if one day you are constipated)
