I use belly rolls over marker and color pencils and ink for my art and it works AMAZING. So opaque and holds up strong on paper. Also Super good for journaling writing notes making lists etc.
Pentel energel has been the best gelpen I've ever used so far. It also dries up real quick but the only and annoying problem about it is that it's not waterproof and especially for a person like me who has sweaty hands all the time, it's a big sad problem. 😢
I know I'm late 😭😭 but maybe consider getting those hand creams that make your hands dry enough to not sweat? I have some, and it's great because I never sweat.
Some people love em, some people hate em. Personally hate writing with them because theyre just too uncomfortable to me but i will admit its super smooth
honestly after using A LOT of pens atp I have come to the conclusion that the top few pen brands ( gel ) would be zebra, pilot (juice up specifically, i dislike juice formula ), and pentel. A really random sort of cheap pen that I ADORE though would be the POP Basic TM, both blue and black. idk how but the ink is perfection
i use the RSVP (granted, not GEL type) and i am so in love with them. they even make my handwriting look nicer. i prefer the energel pens though. sharpie feels like it’s scratching the paper (although that could just be me and a texture thing)
Pentel Energel and Uniball Signo 207 are both pretty smear resistant for a lefty on Rhodia paper. Zebra Sarasa are also good (and the Zebra Sarasa Dry are even better, though I don't have one of the Dry ones to test).
ok, it doesn’t pass the smudge test but the smoothest, “juiciest” pens i’ve ever tried were the zebra pen doodlerz!! so amazing and only $15 for a 60 pack!
That Pentel has been my work/school go to for years. Only thing is sometimes the body of the pen pops open & won't stay closed. I always keep an old pen around in case i have to switch out the ink cartridge.
Caran d'Ache 888 Infinite, you won't find it outside specialty stores but if you're willing to make the trip you'll never spend less than $5 on a pen ever again
In my experience, the 0.7mm Pentel Energel writes more smoothly than the 0.5mm Zebra Sarasa, but this would also depend on how you hold the pen when you write.
You can easily buy mediocre quality gel pens in bulk for super super cheap anywhere in the world online. But if you're quite into stationery and have particular preferences for your pens, the cheap bulk stuff just don't live up to the test. I was like this, I didn't care about random gel pens till I realised that they weren't good enough for me because of the scratchiness and smudginess, especially with highlighters. Did a bit of research, and now I won't ever study without a trusty RTX pentel energel. The difference in quality is absolutely worth the price, for me at least, but a lot of these pens simply cost a lot because they're exported from Japan.
