You sir, have sparked my interest in fabricating a crane of my own. I’m just curious about what the dimensions are and what the lifting capacity is, plus if the crane can be made mobile, weather by trailer or mounted on a propelled chassis. I’ve got some ideas in mind, but I just wanted to get a better idea before jumping in and fabricating it and start having problems with the build. Thank you in advance for your help and time.
Trailer mounted would probably be the best option. I have a 20ft. boat and had to make all the pieces small enough to load. I have a 9 mile run by boat to the fishing camp.
@@genfabprojects6907 yeah, I can see where you’re coming from. If you have a pontoon, you could always fabricate a drop gate on the front to make it easier to load and unload. Not with steel anyways, or else the boat would end up becoming a submarine. It’s obvious it would be made out of reinforced aluminum. If you’ve seen the backends of dragsters, the traction bars (ladder bars), you could use that concept for the drop gate.
Thanks, I built it with mostly salvaged material. I am filling washed out land at our fishing camp in Lafitte La. The project is going well. I load tested at 1000 lbs boomed out. It probably can handle a little more but that is all I need for this job.
