Just throwing this out there Ive been watching youtube for over a decade, and its amazing that this is the first time I've had adobe advertised to me, even though the majority of the videos Ive watched were probably edited on Adobe software. Better late than never I spose, haha
I'm happy for Donut because I'm sure they are paying them a lot for the spot, but god damn if I don't hate Premiere and After Effects. Too bad they have a monopoly in most of the digital editing and general content creation world.
@@FilmsByMattH after effects is def a monopoly, especially for motion graphics, but premier? Off the top of my head I can think of Sony Vegas and Final Cut, not to mention all the other more beginner oriented video editors.
@@FilmsByMattH Yeah, I can second that. I like how 3D companies managed to sneak in by creating links to adobe software. Like being able to import Cinema4D scenes into aftereffects seamlessly, including all the cameras and motion setups. Wonder if we will see a buyout/takeover or Adobe create their own 3D suite that is industry competitive.
what do you mean she has no similarities at all. the entire episode she was just like: iM so FunNy 💅💅 and that's fucking cringe. if you pay attention to her you can see her make weird faces wich makes her less funnier than she is.
No offense to the lady cuz this single video isn't enough to judge her by but I think james is far more entertaining and has much better comedic delivery than most people. He's the perfect mix of outlandish absurdity without being overbearing and obnoxious.
Can't believe that after TV shows like MythBusters did the whole tennis ball car unlock trick and described exactly how it works that it's still being perpetuated on the internet to this day
I tried the headlight hack on my 2009 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT and IT WORKS. I have struggled with fogged headlights for years with this car and finally broke down and used the RainX headlight restoration kit. It took maybe 45 minutes for each head light and A LOT of elbow grease. The lemon and baking soda trick takes 5 minutes per light including rinsing and drying off and I could actually feel my fingers after doing it. Super simple and super cheap, I’m going to be using this trick monthly to keep up on my foggy head lights and I will never use the RainX kits ever again. Thanks for confirming this hack James!!
The floormats hack is straight up dangerous when used under the driver’s seat. People have died by their floormats interfering with the pedals. That’s why all modern cars have floormats that clip into place and cannot move where they shouldn’t
There's a pretty interesting podcast on this by Malcom Gladwell ("Blame Game") where he argues that floormats never had anything to do with it and in most all cases, maybe all, it was unintended acceleration. Brakes are designed to overpower an engine, even at WOT.
the tennis ball hack worked on 40 years worth of German cars, which used a small air pump or manifold vacuum to operate the central locking. I can confirm it working on a number of VW and Mercedes models from the mid 1960s thru to my 2001 VW Polo. I've also seen it work with a workboot instead of a ball. I think everything is electric now so it won't work anymore.
I've already got grass growing in my work van and it didn't cost me anything. I simply failed to clean it for 3yrs while working as a gardener and now it has grass, moss, clover and a whole menagerie of bugs and creatures to keep me company
Often times they do that kind of thing in reality TV shows too because they don't have permission to use the brand name. TBH though the way the law works with that is really dumb, if they don't want their brand showing up in stuff, then they shouldn't sell products with prominently displayed brand names and logos!
Fun video, though the first hack is actually no hack. It was just wetness of the surface that made it look like the headlights were fixed momentarily. As soon as the surface dries, you will get back your old and rough headlights.
This video was a lot of fun to watch! Jackie has a great personality and she works well with James. I hope she gets invited back for more videos! Keep up the amazing content yall
The tennis ball trick worked on old cars that had a vaccum seal system in place for central locking. The pressure from the tennis ball would, if applied correctly, cause an external pressure on the vaccum seal and open the lock.
My wife bought a new first gen Mazda 3 years ago & thieves learned if you kick the door a few inches below the key hole it would pop up the lock. She had three dents in her door in the next few months. Mazda sent a recall letter about the issue to fix the locks. The dealership told her they where also using the tennis ball technique. Unfortunately no one told the thieves that Mazda fixed the faulty locks & my wife proceeded to have more dented doors.
@@bakedstreetyt Tiktok is fine if you actually let the algorithm do its thing. If you don’t like stupid dances, just press not interested when they come up.
Well I dont have it but too be honest the only ones that pop up on RU-vid are for me the ones were its dances that I'm pretty sure are just for girls or whoever's in them to show off flexibility or there bodies I mean it's pretty obvious tho luckily I havent seen these hack videos yet I dont know why I put yet I dont intend to watch one unless its how to clean a car quickly in like a second or how to clean your room in a second which Is unlikely or impossible tho I could be wrong I might of had a hack one pop up or a couple I'm not sure
To break into your golf James, remove one of the lights that light up your number plate on the back, use some needle nose pliers to drag the lock mechanism….. and you’re in!
IIRC the tennis ball thing worked on the Ford Chubb keys (so early to mid 80s). It was a serious enough problem to change the key/lock fitted, hence the Tibbe key replacing it. The sudden busrt of air pressure would break the internal parts of the lock
The tennis ball trick does work on certain vehicles, particularly old ones. The trick to theft prevention is that it doesn't work on any cars people want to steal.
I literally watched the video game movie Postal about 2hrs ago (on Steam) and now I just happened to pick a random Donut video and Jackie is right here.
That tennis ball trick actually works really well if done correctly. Back in the late 80s to early 90s a lot of golfs bullis and Passats got stolen like that…
I've actually done the tennis ball thing on my old 1982 VW Rabbit. I was told about it by my shop teacher and we tried it out on all the cars in the shop. Of about 15 cars, it only worked on 4 or 5 of them and none of them had electric locks. You had to place the hole in the tennis ball directly over the keyway and bash the ever-living shit out of it and, even then, it only worked about 50% of the time.....but it did work! I seriously doubt it would work on ANY cars today though
The Tennisball trick does work. Friends of my used it to steal radios in the 90s. Also old, heavily used Volkswagen keys worked on other car doors but not in the ignition.
The tennis ball thing does actually work. It was common in the 80s (and probably doesn't work on cars with remote locking, so that leaves out most cars from the last 20 years). You need to cut it in half and use it like a plunger instead of drill a hole and suck, and yes many cars were stolen and broken into in the 80s. A coathanger was more common though.
In about 2002 we went to another city here in Germany to meet some people. The car (Audi Coupe) was parked on the street. When we went back it was open and backpacks, handbags, cameras and so on were stolen. We called the police to file a report. They told us it is actually quite easy to get into this type of car. You only need a tennis ball. Maybe it works only with some types of central locking, the hydraulic ones not the electric?
Jackie Tohn is an amazing talent and I was shocked to see her pop up here. For like 2 seconds. Then I remembered that she would easily fit the vibe of donut and could easily outshine everyone else on the channel comedically. And she can sing. Bring her back, please.
Holy cow, how do you all run an automotive channel and not know about vacuum door locks? Definitely some 80s era cars with those. I'm assuming, if any chance, that would be the car that would work on.
I was looking for this comment!! Yes actually 80s Mercedes were very vulnerable to being stolen with a tennis ball. As an example the W124 or W210 (first gen) use vacuum door locks that could be opened like that.
@@Bobodododo To certain generations, it's basic knowledge. Like knowing what a handbrake is. It could be excused if it was something a bit more obscure like a trafficator.
The first one works because of the abrasion of the baking soda. But the foaming is just an acid/base reaction of the lemon juice reacting with the baking soda. Baking soda an on damp paper towel would be just as effective, and save the lemon to make lemonade.
I think the premise behind the tennis ball is the pressure pushing in pushes the pins into place, like a lockpick gun bumping them. Only problem is, a tennis ball can't apply tension aaaand I'm pretty sure most car door locks now don't have the same kinda pins as a padlock or basic door lock
The tennis ball hack only worked on pnuematic central locking. It was something that only worked on certain cars, the UK it was Ford Sierras and Ford Escorts (mk3 and 4s from memory).
As a daily, its good. As a project car, its good but you have alternatives which are cheaper in my country like the e36, e46 or just a regular 335i. The 335i is actually one of my dream cars so even owning one would be sick This is coming from a 14 yo internet kid whose dad has a manual e93 325i that we use as a 2nd/fun car
Awww i thought she was a new intern 😕 would like to see you guys hire a girl car enthusiast. I love you guys but it would be nice for all the car girls out there to have someone to relate too maybe 🤷🏻♂️
Can't we have e one show for guys? Just one? There are female commentators on all men's sports, boxing and mma, female refs in the NFL, racing, home improvement shows.... I'd like just one freaking show that guys can just talk about the things they do and like. I don't ask for men in areas dominated by women. I don't NEED someone that represents my sex or race in every thing I like but it's nice just having a place fellas can hang out. There are car shows already with female hosts. Try those.
the tennis ball trick works, but only on cars with pneumatic car locks. It worked on mk II and III vw golfs, but we used to cut the ball in half and used it that way
