I have a lot of work to do, but I managed to get an initial test in to see if the 3D printed impellers I have been designing are in the right ballpark to actually work.
The long term goal of this project is to gather information on suction gold dredge eductor venturi efficiency and ultimately design for a subsurface find gold dredge to be used in Nome Ak.

Cool idea and cool designs!. Hope they work as well as thought and designed. If it builds more water pressure, making the flow stronger through the hose into the Highbanker or Dredge, this could be a great benefit for us all! More efficiency out of existing pumps=happier Prospectors for sure!

Cool! At first, I was wonder what was with the kookaburras! 😂 Great build on the impellers and your attention to detail and testing is remarkable too. 🤙🏼

Ah yes.........memories! Playing with toys in the tub. Some of us never grow up 🤣 I am watching with great interest, as I am solely running my 4 different highbankers on battery power. I remember you doing some research a while back on the claims made by some pump manufacturers about GPH. Anyhow, any increase in pressure and efficency without increased power demand is of great interest. And.......the price of lithium batteries keeps going down. I am looking at maybe a 100 Ah soon, to hopefully increase my hose length. Thanks for all your research and testing. It means a lot to many of us!

Thanks for the positive energy in the comment John! I think a potential use case for the higher pressure impeller would be to work side by side with a longer hose... We'll see how it all goes and I'll keep your specific mining style in mind for one of the prototypes. Do you have a preferred pump or brand so far? I picked the 2000gpm to experiment with because it was the largest pump with a stock 1-1/8" outlet and remains reasonably priced before the big step up into the larger pumps... Curious on your experience with these pumps for highbanker feeding.

I often use the Johnson 2200 GPR pump on my Le'Trap. I mostly use the Princess Auto 2000GPH pum on my Geao Highbanker and my 1100 GPH on my mini. The Le'Trap works best with a little more GPH.@@UtmostOutdoors

Good start so far Kyle. I'll be curious to see how your testing plays out. If you can achieve same flow but lower wattage, that's a win. If you can achieve significantly more flow for only a marginal increase in wattage then that is also a win!

Love it 👍 When in doubt copy a dyson impeller design 😂. Or a car turbo design. I thought the pump had its own housing shell, although it might not be the best design it saves weight on the impeller that the motor has to spin. I do remember you talked about maybe changing that design if you have to, i know you, and to get the best numbers you will have to 😂. I puchased a 1100gph design because i thought the 2000gph were to expensive. That one for under $50 is a absolute bargain 👍. I am only powering a 6" setup so 1100gph is enough for my needs.

In the shower's refuge, rain softly pours, Utmost Outdoors films, seeking golden ores. From Alberta's peaks to Sydney's lush green, Mountains in his heart, a familiar scene. As rain taps the rhythm, and droplets cascade, Two kookaburras squabble, their calls displayed. In the indoor haven, away from the storm, He chases his dreams, in digital form.

Awesome job I understand what you are trying to accomplish as far as coming up with ideas for ventures and that kind of things but I’m interested in what you have for output of volumes with out reducing it down at the end of your hose just a overall amount of water out of your pump by improving your impellers hope that makes sense I don’t know how to word it lol I have built most of my equipment in the past but I don’t have the equipment like the 3 D printer or anything like that and Im sure I don’t have the computer experience to do what you do I have found cominse has helped me with with what I have done so far wished I knew how to run the computer but o well at my age it’s a bit late and as you can tell my spelling is not the best I have to say that the high banker that you have built is pretty awesome you did a fantastic job on the design I really like your videos been watching got the gold fever have been up in a long time hopefully this summer been working on some ideas for building a rockchrusher been thinking of doing some gold ore keep up the great work young man and enjoy the land down under got a friend that lives there

Kyle We are lost as to your end goal . What is your step by step process you wish to follow ? give us a road map from A-B . We under stand R&D and better mouse traps . we only got showers in our house . You may want to get hold of Mark Keane in this regard for specs as Keane engineering has delved a little into underwater dredging as well as eddy pumps . Having completely underwater sluice boxes in my mind will need a lot of engineering to work as efficient as your above water sluice . The question is, is there anyone out there on the same track to collaborate with or can help you with not reinventing the wheel

what kind of 3D printer do you have? I also have a couple of Prusa MK3s+, and use them for everything possible including the gold prospecting hobby =)

I got a Bamboo Labs P1S specifically because it came with an enclosure so I can print more types of filament. It was between Prusa and Bamboo Labs because I just wanted something that works. I'm falling in love with this thing!

Have all that blowing gold into a short 18 inch round riffled bazooka tube and bye, bye to all those hoses, pumps and gear. You are on the right path. On your designs and intellectual property. Draft out all your designs a long with written intent of what they are designed to do. Put them into an envelope and send them to yourself registered mail. Now you have a record of when you invented what you did. When you get the envelope back store it unopened. If someone tries to rip your invention you have a legal record if needed in court.

I have no idea what you are doing - OR WHY Can you not just build a dredge or whatever it is you are building , and then simply purchase a pump that will provide the amount of flow that will run it ?
@UtmostOutdoors
@UtmostOutdoors 3 месяца назад
I will try to do a better job explaining the "why" in a future video. I'm just trying to understand the pump a little better as I hope it might be an ingredient for a more efficient gold dredge. It's surprisingly difficult to find higher pressure pumps in this size.

@@UtmostOutdoors For now , I would just like a yes or no answer. Are you trying to increase Pressure at the expense of Flow Rate ? I purchased one of those 2000 GPH Pumps and am so far Loving it. I only need use half it's capacity and it pulls about 3 Amps , same as an 1100 SeaFlo. I may make a tape and graph of Current consumption versus Water Flow.
@UtmostOutdoors
@UtmostOutdoors 3 месяца назад
Yes, I am trying to increase pressure at the expense of flow rate. Curious if the same flow and pressure can be achieved with lower power use as well. Basically, is there any actual benefit to swapping impellers, and if so, how much can be gained.

@@UtmostOutdoors Sort of reminds me of my air bed inflator pump and my tyre inflator pump. Air bed pump does an air bed in a minute but is incapable of doing a tyre , EVER. Tyre inflator does a tyre in a few minutes but takes even longer to do a air bed. Always Love your tapes regardless if I have a clue where or what or why.
