I love Zum Laundry soap. I love their fragrance and my clothes come out soft without fabric softener. They also have a Sweet Orange, Amber and I believe a Geranium fragrance as well.
Great video Sophie. Thank you for your research. I’m glad to see Molly Suds in your review. I just purchased that to try after a recommendation from a friends daughter. So far, I really like it.
Sophie, I have been using the Zum laundry detergent and Molly suds. I like them both, especially the Molly Suds for workout clothes. I was curious if you could do a laundry whitener comparison or do you have a favorite laundry whitener? Thanks for all the information! I started using Zum when you mentioned you were using it for Owen’s laundry.
Thank you for paying so much attention to fragrance, esp. the possible scent of "unscented." I also have not really enjoyed Dr. Bronner's (in my case, as shampoo) even though so many others do.
Very helpful and informative. I use the whitening version Molly’s Sud’s for my white towels and clothes and it is amazing. I personally have switched to True Earth dryer sheets and I purchase one year at a time which reduces the cost. They work extremely well plus reduces plastic use and is environmentally friendly which is important to me.
I use it for white underwear and don't find it to be super effective. I'm trying the regular Molly suds now and also not getting my clothes super clean. I have little kids, i need something strong
Yes. An endocrinologist told me this years ago. They said one young boy patient was growing breasts. they finally realized his mother had been putting lavender in his bath and lotion since he was a baby.
This is true of synthetic lavender, not actual lavender. The same for the other scents. Do actual research, and don’t just believe people in the comments. Real essential oils are not endocrine disrupters.
I only use Castile soap for my laundry and my clothes comes out clean. It's an awesome stain remover as well. I dilute it before using it and it's still potent. I don't use anything else.
I was wondering about deluting it like many use bar soaps for making laundry detergent with washing soda. But obviously may not need the washing soda with it. My question is how well does the castile soap clean. I have several kids and dogs so I need something tough especially for my football players.
The owner Lisa Bronner said if you have an EE machine use half of what’s recommended on the bottle I use about 1 tablespoon per load and it works amazing!
Thank you! This was very informative! I would like you to test the various laundry detergent strips (Poesie, ClearLif, True Earth, Eco Friendly, etc) that are out there now. No plastic/reduced packaging, no water, so greener in that way. I would also like to see you soil strips of white sheets or white T-shirts in a bucket of muddy water all at the same time, and then launder each of them in each detergent per the directions, to truly test their cleaning power. Green is great, but does each detergent actually do a great job of getting the clothes clean, especially whites?
Me too! I've been using it for years but I'm almost out and now I'm doing research. Thinking of trying Pure Haven or Molly's suds. No complaints on Nellie's with POW. the regular version wasn't quite enough for under arm sweat.
Thanks for doing the testing for us! Curious about the water temp you use when washing. I wash almost exclusively on the cold setting in our HE washer. How well do the powders dissolve? I’ve tried some detergent sheets before just to save on space, and many of them didn’t perform well or didn’t dissolve well in cold water and left a bunch of stains on our clothes. I’d be interested in one of the powders since I wash often and have smaller loads, but I’m concerned they will not dissolve well.
I also wash cold/warm water (keeps electricity use down) and found powders leave crust stains as they did not dissolve well. Maybe if you use a tea kettle to pre-desolve the powder into a liquid detergent then use that it would work. Prefer the convenience of just liquid.
I actually haven't before, but as the other commenter said, the Meliora is basically those ingredients you would use to make a homemade version. curious as to why it would be so expensive though... 🤔 Maybe I should try making my own next!
@@SophisticatedOrganization I realized after watching this that you are in Omaha, which is only about 1.5 hours from me! Funny how close we are to each other. LOL
thanks for the info i bought some of mollys suds hopefully its good for me, i recently became alergic to the tide pods i was using as my laundry detergent hopefully mollys suds is easier on me
This was very helpful. Do you have a high efficiency washer? I’m looking for natural detergents that will work well in an h.e. washer. Many detergents that say they are h.e. compatible sud up too much and don’t rinse out properly. I’m wondering how these perform in this capacity. Thank you!
I just bought the Molly Suds. I have used it in the tub and got a fine powder coating on the glass door of my HE washer. So I tried it in the top dispenser. I was left with a hard clump of the detergent. What am I doing wrong here???
