Hey Janis. It really has been shocking the last few days but yesterday and today have been great. Shrewsbury is beautiful. We had such a nice day. The starlings were amazing. Nature at her very best. We have had some really clear skies where there stars have been incredible. Love to see the time lapses too. I am lucky to see the drawings in progress but a time lapse, for me, is even better. Hi loved the Vlog. We have an electric boat, but just in case, we’ve bought a diesel two 10 kw generator if the sun is out. To be environmentally friendly we run it on HVO, hydro treated vegetable oil from Aquaduct marina. We hope we never need it as a tad expensive but it matches your ethos of being environmentally friendly. We do have 3kw of solar on the roof generally we produce more power than needed dependant on the weather, so you may have less solar and need bit more fuel but you may want to consider HVO. Carry on the great Vlogs really enjoy them. Liz & George
Hey guys. We now have a 14kVA generator. I have heard of HVO. Didn’t realise they did it in Aqueduct. We have just short of 2kW solar so a bit less than you guys. We are still convinced there are Efficiencies to be made with our setup and have been a little disappointed we have used more diesel than our precious diesel boat. We hope the new set up helps. Paul, I'm always so impressed by your ability to capture the depth of expression on your clients' pets' faces. That wolfhound was absolutely gorgeous! I love watching your journey guys, I admit I do jump into your vlogs when permitted due to other life , work commitments, no offence but Dexter is the star no pun intended but I watched your build of your new lovely home but you seem to have so many unfair issues fr a new high end boat, the interior is fantastic but mechanically it doesn’t seem 100%, keep up the good work guys.

I have a special interest in your success as we're hoping to build our middle beam (10'x65') electric boat in the near future. @rivieradel Hi we didn’t want to be dependant on services so we have a Cinderella toilet, incinerating so need to off load waste. We also have dishwasher, fridge, freezer washing machine/tumble drier and underfloor heating also a water recovery system from the rain. It can be done but if cruising in the winter best to get a generator preferably running on HVO. 3 kw is probably the best option for solar. Good luck,
Hope refit suits your lifestyle. I guess it’s trial and error when customising such a big installation to cater for everything aboard. Lovely artwork Paul 👍

Hello Paul, Anthony and Dexter-Dog, Really sorry to hear you have had more technical issues, and what a great team you have putting things right. I don't understand why, when you are cruising, your batteries are'nt being fully charged whilst the boat's engine is running (similar to a car charging it's own battery). Even in the winter you must be getting some solar energy to help things along. Planes running on battery power are the next thing. The lock at the start of the Vlog seemed to be quite deep. Those sparrows were amazing flying in formation. I used to see amazing displays in Palma Majorca many years ago, I must have just gone at the right time of year. Nature is wonderful. That was so nice of your friends to look after you during the repair work on your boat, You know some lovely people. Dexter seemed really happy to be back at home. Paul, you are a brilliant artist, wow the dog you sketched looked truly amazing. Another excellent Vlog. Take care and have a good trouble-free (Tech) week. Spoolbox.
Hey Spoolbox. Fingers crossed the new set up helps. Our batteries don’t charge whilst we cruise. It is sort of a reverse set up. We charge the batteries by solar and the generator and when we cruise, we discharge the batteries. We do get a bit of energy from solar in winter, but not a lot. That lock really was deep. Absolutely loved the starling murmuration Nature is amazing. We are so lucky to know so many lovely people and amazing friends. Love when Paul does his time lapses. Glad you enjoyed. The starlings were amazing to watch thank you for sharing. We go a long way back with Kings Lock chandlery , the chap that managed our marina worked there and also we bought all our paint for the boat from there when our daughter painted the name etc on her. Still on the boat to this day! Sooo great to see Dexter running again - like he has a new lease of life . Is the portrait of him? It is so beautiful. She required Prednisone injections about twice a year to manage her condition. Despite her health challenges, she lived a remarkable, mischievous 😄 life until the ripe old age of 16.
