Sat and watched your latest vlog with a box of tissues, i know he wasn't our dog ,and we never got to meet the gentle old soul, but we got very attached to him watching all your great vlogs. We know how hard this is losing pets ourselves. Then watched the lovely tribute to him, more tissues, and as Paul said last journey together next week. I think youve both been incredible sharing what is a very personal time with us all, as i said before you'll never forget him,but the pain will lessen in time and those beautiful memories you have shared will slowly replace the pain. Take care of yourselves, you are in our thoughts .❤

We are devastated Harry. We were only saying we hadn’t heard from you in a while. Hope you are keeping well. We are heading back now: Currently at Foulridge. We got Dexter’s ages back on Friday so he is back with us. 💔
When a furry family member passes over rainbow bridge the pain is unbearable. They definitely leave their pawprints on our hearts. Dexter has left his paw print on so many of our hearts. It was so good to see such a beautiful soul living his best life. I for one have shed tears over the very sad news. My favourite RU-vid dog and his gorgeous brown eyes will be very much missed. Paul and Anthony you have my very sincere and deepest sympathies. Dexter will be remembered always. Take care.
It really is Jay. We are devastated and feel like a piece of my heart is missing. The boat seems so empty. We picked his ashes up Friday and he is back on the boat with us. He was such a gentle soul with such expressive eyes. We are humbled by how loved he was by so many. Thank you for your kind message. ❤️
Of course by now we know about Dexter and have already conveyed our condolences on your FB page. A world famous dog. Looking at him here makes me think he had quality of life to the end. That is as good as any of us can hope for. You both clearly doted on him and were always there for him - even if one of you was working the other was there almost all the time. On top of that he had a wonderful few years on the canals and rivers where he had new sights and smells to investigate all the time. Compared to the average pet dog in a commuter town where they are alone most of the day and get a 10 minute walk or are simply shoved into the tiny back yard for a while when the family gets home Dexter had a great life. It is two way traffic. The two of you have had your lives enhanced by having Dexter too. On those cold or wet days you have still gone out for a walk for Dexter's sake, but also benefiting you and also having a joyous welcome when you arrive home after a hard or bad day away from the boat. That is as good as it gets all round really. We have a couple of cats. (We live in a Muslim country - there are dogs, but very few.) It just isn't the same. They are not as affectionate and there is no way to take cats for a walk - they just don't do walks. This means that if it rains or is too hot (never cool, let alone cold) we stay indoors. I hope you do get another dog - for the sake of the dog. Any dog would be lucky to be with you guys. There are plenty of dogs in need of a home with good people like you. Tim and Jalika, Malaysia
Thank you so much guys. That is a lovely message. We were so lucky to have him. He gave so much and expected so little. We are absolutely devastated. We are humbled by how many people loved him too. He was such a gentle calm soul, even as a puppy. I remember the first time I went to pick him up and straight away, I fell in love. The boat certainly feels empty without him. Things are way too raw at the moment and we need time, but so can’t imagine being on a boat without a dog. Thanks again to you both for your kind words. 💔
I hadn't realised that Dexter had passed until i saw an update just now. Im so, so sorry for your loss. The wonderful thing about dogs is that they love us so unconditionally and that they bring such joy, the tragedy is that they are with us for such a short time. Love to you both. ❤️

Hello Paul and Anthony. I know your videos are several weeks behind, so was wondering if Dexter-Dog would appear in the final couple of catch up Vlogs, during this very sad time. What a lovely surprise to be able to see him and to remember him as the beautiful soul he was. I thought you might have updated the Vlog description (it would not have affected the edit). You had some lovely weather on this week's Vlog. There were 2 sharp bends which had to be navigated. Do you not sound your horn on these blind corners anymore? Anthony's Roasties looked lovely. Hey Spoolbox. He will be in the last few vlogs. We are absolutely heartbroken and he really was a beautiful soul. It was Dexter’s last journey it is just the journey to Gargrave was his last. Glad Paul has been able to start drawing again. He was very frustrated. Roast dinner was delish. We brought Dexter’s ashes back to the boat this evening. The boat has been so empty without him. Paul and Antony, my heart is heavy with the loss of your amazing Dexter.... and in the same week that Jamie lost Sherpa. How wonderful that his last cruise was in such a gorgeous area. So sorry about Dexter ,you gave him a great life he was blessed to have you both and you him . I am going to Gargrave on a walking weekend in a couple of weeks time ,it’s lovely there isn’t it . Saw the Kennet at Saltaire Shipley a few weeks ago when I was doing another walk x
Thank you Linda. He loved a long and happy life and loved unconditionally. Gargrave is a lovely place. We saw Kennet too coming through Greenberfield. It is very impressive. We are heartbroken about Dexter 💔
Anthony your eyes , i really do feel your pain have comfort in knowing you gave Dexter the best life that anyone of us could of done 17years in Dog years wow testament to the care yourself and Paul gave him , and Paul your Artwork is Amazing i will purchase a print for a present for my Daughter, take care of yourselves .
Dexter loved a full and happy life. We was an incredible dog and we miss him so much. The boat feels so empty. Glad Paul is able to resume his art. Aww his prints are lovely, sure she will love it. Hope you have a good weekend ❤️

A beautiful cruise with beautiful scenery. I don’t have words for your loss and pain. You both are incredible loving people, your great friendships show that. I had a dog for 18 years, a Jack Russell. It’s a good innings for your Dexter! Not one moment of your life together can be taken away. Hope this gives you guys a bottle of good wine to celebrate his life 💕
