Testing out the new Parker 78R. Is it a milder Parker razor?

Today I tested out the new Parker 78R. A new design for Parker that was created to be milder than previous Parker offerings. I will say that I did find the new 78R to be milder than most Parker razors I've used in the past.
If you've avoided Parker razors because you thought they were too aggressive, I would encourage you to give the new Parker 78R a try. I used a Parker Premium Platinum blade, and had a great two pass shave. I may even venture to put a Feather blade in this new Parker razor. Typically I avoid using aggressive blades in Parker razors, but I think the new Parker 78R may just be the first Parker I would use a Feather blade in.

Bought the gun metal version. What a beauty. 24GBP. No blade overhang a plus point. Keep catching my ear with other razors, not good, on blood thinners.

That's a nice review. Could you do a review of the 78r vs 34C? The 34C has been my favourite razor for a long time and I use the Parker blade or the Rockwell blade in it. I find this the best smooth non-aggressive shave for my fair skin. Sensitive skin fine hair growth

Great shave Joe! Hope the farmers market went well. I love milder razors. Would you say this new Parker is closer to a 34C? Also, looking at the site, it looks like the solid bar/guard design from the Chrome to Satin Chrome look different. Have you tried both to see if there is a difference? Will bath fizz make it to the site? Would love to pick up some fir my wife and daughter. Have a great day!

Thanks James! I appreciate you watching! I would say the 78R is closer to the 34C than most Parker razors, of course, as always, it’s a YMMV opinion. I went with a Parker blade, but a milder blade, for example an Astra green, may increase the mildness. I did not use the Satin Chrome razor, but I can say in person the safety bars look the same, and there is no difference in the specs. As for the bath fizz, yes they will be making it to the website soon. Sadie is working on more, and we may be releasing two this week. Have a great week!

Thanks Glenn! I appreciate you watching. The Parker that would be closest to the Mühle R41 would be the Parker 24C. It’s an open comb like the R41.

Wish Parker would make a mild tto razor. I previously owned a 96R but it was just too aggressive for me. Furthermore, it had uneven blade exposure & alignment which almost alwAys resulted in nicks & cuts with the mandatory irritation. Any blade feel whatsoever results in irritation for me. Thanks for posting the video.

You should try the Parker 87R. It's a TTO razor and is similiar in performance and size to the Merkur 34C.

I dunno. If I understand correctly, the Parker tto head is standard throughout their lineup of tto razors. Aggressive with blade feel.

@@nicetna2010 I have both the Parker 96R TTO and the Parker 87R TTO razors. Let me tell you that these are both very different razors in terms of aggressiveness. The 96R TTO is A LOT MORE Aggressive and I tend to only use when I have 3 or more days of growth. The 87R TTO I can use everyday if I need to.
