I essentially did the same thing with my existing SeeMore blade putter. It started as face balanced. I was inconsistent with it, partly due to light weight. I added 3/4 oz to the hollow back, both heal and toe, which helped some. Not being satisfied with my consistency I moved the toe weight to the heel and added another half ounce. This provides sufficient head weight for stability and makes the heel hang which has helped me keep the face on line more consistently. I am putting more long puts within 3 feet and have even holed several between 20 and 40 feet.

Love the video but 2 things, sir. 1. Add a new competitor to the mix, the Evnroll Zero, and it looks pretty good! 2. Fun fact, Odyssey made a line of putters back in 2015 or 16 they called the Toe Up series. They apparently did an awful job marketing them though. Id be interested to see one in real life because they are one of the few that made a blade that offers the zero (or low) torque.

1. The EvnRoll putters have been tested and documented not to produce zero toque. I'll double check specifically on the Evnroll zero. (Suspect they'd have a device to show off like LAB and PXG if it did) 2. I've never actually seen one of the Odyssey Toe Up Series in person, but would love to try one.

I have LAB putters and one Allan putter. I keep detailed stats on my putting and while it is early I have to say that my preference between the two brands is for the Allan, and the stats seem to bear this out. I am not wild about the grip on it and I'm wondering if I change the grip does this change the dynamics of the target balance? I also know that I haven't had enough time using the putter to say definitely which I find better. And I know that I am talking about my own experience and preferences. Others may have different experiences. But thanks for this review, it was a very good treatise on the subject. I don't have a Honu putter so can't compare it.

I was ALWAYS lousy at putting... the worst part of my hardly great (in general) golf game. Practice did not seem to help, and I went through a variety of putter shapes / designs over the years that also did not help. Additionally, the insane idea of spending $100 for a putter when my entire bag of clubs only cost $200. -- this was in the 1970's and 80's. -- seemed ludicrous to me. But late in life, I finally broke down and bought a strange looking, used Odyssey putter at a golf shop. As demonstrated in your video, it was almost impossible for this horseshoe shaped thing to swing off-line. With a SuperStroker, oversized grip to help eliminate my hands from the putting stroke, finally at age 77, I am a confident putter. A bit too late to really benefit me, I do LOVE going to the practice greens now and listening to that beautiful sound of golf ball rolling into a cup ! Sweet music to these old ears... Funny how things work some times -- better late than never. 😊😊

Now let’s try the same test with the ball making contact 1/4” at a time toward the heal then toward the toe of the putter. Guess what? It will open and close just like any other putter. With this type of balance I am going to guess it has to be dead center. I believe most putting issue’s with most higher hcp players Has to do with allot other factors and putter twisting included but may not be the biggest issue.,
@misteroneputt
@misteroneputt 12 дней назад
You are right that most high handicappers have other issues. With regards to hitting on the heel or toe...certainly any putter will open or close when you hit it on the heel or toe. The ONLY thing that happens with a heel or toe strike is that the ball travels less distance. Slo motion video studies have proven that striking putts on the heel or toe does not cause putts to roll off line because the ball has almost zero dwell time on the putter face ...In other words the ball is gone before the heel or toe impact twists the face off line. Additionally putters balanced like the PXG Allan, Honu or LAB have been shown to roll more consistent speed and distance when struck on heel or toe
