Sometimes I wish Allie would just be critical of a product and not bend over backwards trying to make a product sound beautiful and exciting. For those who haven’t watched yet, basically, don’t use this product the way it is advertised because it makes the pores on your cheeks look huge. Use ANOTHER brand’s blush first and then barely top with this if you already accidentally bought it. The Hourglass blush is beautiful for sure. It is ok to be critical of a product when it doesn’t work.
This! It’s okay to not like a product. I don’t buy products based off of influencer reviews because I know they are just trying to stay on a PR list. I hate saying that, but that’s what it feels like.
@@trishamarieyeah, her thumbnail looked like she didn't like it but then the video sounds like she does and is trying to be for it so it is confusing at times, to me at least, how honest these influencers are or aren't. I am one of those too that I dont buy stuff regarding their review either. I have other things I look at at before I consider it.
But it does work just in light amounts i don’t see how she bent over backwards to make it sound good. It clearly is very pretty. It’s just like with any product if you use too much it’s not gonna look good. Allie is honest and wouldn’t lie to us. She explains everything and it is your choice if you want to deal with it or not
Yes, I don’t go to Allie for reviews unless it’s eyeshadow 😅 She gives great makeup tutorials but I agree that she goes a bit too far to keep things positive when it comes to reviews.
I ended up returning it... it wasn't how I thought it would be. I need to try the RMS, that's looks like the look I really want. Thank you for the comparisons!💜
Wish they’d make eyeshadows in that baked, silky, shimmer formula. You look like a renaissance princess today, with your hair loose and crimped, and your makeup. 😊
Best for fair to medium: Cheer- spring hope- all seasons happy- summer and winter (best color out of the 6 for cool tones, i.e. summer and winters) Best for medium to deep: truth- summer (maybe winters?) I used it once and returned it right away. Looking back, I definitely used too much but it’s too highlight-y for me. But now I want to try the RMS one!
Hi Allie! What are your thoughts about using the Rare Beauty liquid blush (very light application) and use the corresponding Rare Beauty powder blush as a topper or “highlight”? I think it will look very nice! 😊
Hi, Allie. You are my favourite RU-vidr and I really trust your opinion and your recommendations. But since there are so many different products it is sometimes hard to decide what exactly to get (if you have to choose). So could you please do a video of your top products in euch category and explain in detail why you love a product, in which occasions you would use it, maybe with which products you would use it etc.?
Most RU-vidrs do end of year favorites. I'm sure you can find the type of videos you're looking for if you look back just a couple of months. Plus, she does monthly favorites.

I’m 67 and purchased Joy and use a light hand but LOVE it! So beautiful I decided to also,order Happy. I’m not finding any texture issues but use retin a and have pretty good skin.❤
I already use 3 different blushes in my daily routine, liquid matte blush, matte blush to grant the color (after setting with powder) and top it with loreal shiny blush acting as a highlight too. Just love the effect, i could see myself using these rare blushes! ❤
My favorite shade is hope from the powder blush, liquid blush, eyeshadow palette and the liquid lipstick 💄 stain I love mauve and it's so the late Carrie fisher princess leia star wars "you're my only hope" and also very mandy Moore a walk to remember 💖 movie color vibes
I have Cheer and Happy and I use them as you suggest, Allie. I use them over another blush for a fun pop of color and shimmer. I personally like them a lot! BTW I thought cheer looked really pretty on you. 😍👍🏼 Thanks for this video.
TBH the first 2 blush shades we so similar that looking at your face head on I never would have known you were wearing 2 colors. Maybe it is more noticeable in person. Thanks to your review I think I will pick one of these up.
I just got it today and at first I loved it. BUT, within a couple of hours my usually unnoticeable pores looked like craters. Going to return it and try the Hourglass you recommended.
I purchased my RB blush (I am not on their list) and her review is exactly what I feel like. It can emphasize the texture if used as a regular blush but when used the right way, the flush and glow is beautiful!! Also, it shortens my time and keeps my travel bag light because I don't have to carry a separate high lighter. I feel like this is the reason we follow beauty "gurus"/youtubers because they will show us how to use products the right way and not just say its horrible/ its so good like the reviews you see on sephora or influensters at times. Reviewing a product definitely is an art and not everyone can do it well. You can tell very well that she's not biased. She is not glorifying the product. She says that she doesn't like products that emphasize her texture and this clearly does it when used like a traditional powder blush (a lot of people would use it this way) so she shows how to use it the right way to get the best result out of it. This to me is talent.
Thanks for the review. I purchased it in color Joy. It’s beautiful on my skin and I find it pigmented enough to use as a blush. I don’t have large pores so that is not an issue for me but I understand it won’t work for those with large pores near their cheeks.
I love French Rose by RMS. It has to be one of the most beautiful blushes I have ever tried. And I always get compliments when I wear it. Thanks for the Rare Beauty review; I was thinking of picking up one or two during the Sephora sale but am rethinking it as they appear to be more "highlighty" than a normal blush would be. And I have enough highlighters to last me a lifetime.
A very helpful video about this product! I knew it was too shiny for me the moment I saw it. Very interested in the RMS, though! The color of your top is very complimentary to your eye, hair, and skin tones!
I like the new Rare Beauty blush. I have Happy. It's really hard to see how the blushes would be on anyone else because you're sitting in front of studio lights.
It would be nice to try some bronzer to have a bit of depth in the makeup look. Personally I love those rare beauty blushes…I agree with the previous comment about reducing the light so that we see more clearly the colors. Thsnks for the video.☺
I looked at these during the sale and in person they are super "glowy"...also salesperson said they have had a lot of returns because they break (the blush) so easily.
Haus Labs colored highlighters are the best (and I think first) in this category. I’ve had 2 of those for a while and will never run out :) But I love and support Selena Gomez’s work on mental health so might try.
I started with Hope, loved it, and went and got a few others…actually returned a haus lab blush to get these instead. I think they are great toppers and are very pretty eyeshadows. It really doesn’t emphasize texture as I was worried about pores but to your point avoid that area. I have problems with blush lasting but bcz I layer it stays well.
I thought these were stunning but would never work on my mature skin. My pores are screaming thinking about it. 😂 I think they are best suited for young flawless skin. But I too also thought they are for sure more like a blush topper or colored highlighter than an actual blush. I want some powder matte blushes from rare beauty please!

Hi! Would you be able to adjust the lighting so that the products can be seen? The lights are so bright and the background is so light that it completely washes you out. Also, would you be able zoom in if you’re doing face product reviews? I love your recommendations but your videos are so hard to determine how products actually look on the skin. But I just really enjoy your vibe and trust what you say😂thank you!!
I’m so glad you reviewed this! I personally wasn’t interested in this because of the emphasis of texture, and the fact that you do have to be so careful. I much rather would use a cream blush and a highlighter on top to give dimension!
I would have loved to see you build it up like the Rare Beauty team did in the promos for this product, even though we know that it would be texture galore.😆 Otherwise I loved this review!🤍
Hi. Since you made the point of saying you didn’t think it was going to work for your skin as a normal blush very early in the video, I wish you had used the liquid blush first and then top it with the new powder formula, instead of using another brand. Xoxo
I have the shade Happy and what I’ve learned is that a little goes a very long way or else it looks bad, and please don’t use the Rare Beauty Blush Brush with it, it’s too dense, you need a more fluffy brush or else it looks bad. I wish I liked the product more, but I just wouldn’t recommend them. Especially if you have to BARELY use it in order for it to look good, or you have to use it with a different blush? Seems like such a waste of money to me personally.
