Seems to me that machine has trouble at around the 6" or 8" mark of depth. You depend on the target ID #'s and sound to make a decision to dig or not. Unless your digging every target... if that's the case why not just get a Tesoro type machine that just makes a beep with no target ID numbers or tones to listen to. As far as making a beep. The Cheaper Tesoro's out preform the mx sport hands down. A $750 machine that has trouble at 6 to 8 inches? Ripoff. I thought I would buy this machine because it's water proof and I thought it would be better than the ATPro. NOT Anymore. Good Video
William R Tesoro's do ok in this soil but not spectacular. This is very iron infested red dirt. If I was a dig everything kind of guy Tesoro would be my brand. The MX Sport is deeper and more sensitive than the Cutlass I had even with the 7" Detech. This test bed is supposed to be difficult.
I have found the opposite on tesoros, I've gone away from them, the mxt pro and mx sport walk all over the tesoros iny opinion and I've used the entire tesoro line
