For the price this rod is great for those that are "euro nymphing curious" haha. It does have a little side wobble as it is not as fast action as I'm sure the more expensive rods are.

Great video! I have that same rod in a 10'6" 3wt and i love it. That said i ordered the one you have for smaller streams. It's supposed to be here Tuesday, and i can't wait!!

@@BendItFishing originally I went with the matchcatch Brook trout pattern reel be cause I thought it looked cool, but the bearings in it are not stainless steel and they rust So now I'm up in the air on what reel I will make permanent. My plan was to use the same reel and line set up for both rods and just switch them back and forth. Now I'm not sure.

Great video, keep up the fly fishing vids! Do you think euro nymphing is the best strategy for the trophy stretch? Seems like it would be because of how pressured it is. Had a lot of luck with very tiny dries up there recently and not too much luck on pretty basic nymph rigs.

It's a deadly technique and with the little white streamer you can't fish it wrong. I also was using 6x. It's pressured but still very fishable

Any competent fisherman can catch fish with a branch. A $10 rod can catch fish! Thanks for the review, I am fixing to buy that maxcatch rod. Weird how this video popped up on my feed. I have the amazon page opened since last night to purchase. Must be AI.

Once you get use to the mono rig you'll go lower in pounds. I'm at 6 pound now. 5x sighter. I have no problem bringing in big fish on 7x. I started out with a cheap setup but we won't talk about what I'm at now haha. Good fishing

I was running 6x most of the day. How long is your butt section of your mono rig. I ran mine to short you I have to remake it.

It takes some getting used to, but I started at 20 like you and then went down to 15, 10 and 6. Got learn to cast it first. Not just a lob like everyone says. I false cast it a lot to put the fly where I want it.
