Testing the Cheapest Wifi Repeater Online - Does It Work? 

The way I've seen how this is used is to set the unit up somewhere between your device and the main router. The repeater will capture the signal from the original wifi and boost the signal to a device farther away from the half-way point. What you might have tried is to set it up in this fashion. It appears that you had yours set up next to the main router. That said, cheap is cheap and I wouldn't expect much from it, anyway.

Wifi repeaters aren't wifi boosters. You put repeaters in dead zones away from your router after connecting it. Boosters are suppose to be close to your router to amplify. Two different products

I might get one of these for the sole purpose of chopping it up and using it for diy IoT projects. Actually, quite a good chunk of the cheap electronics on wish are more useful as _project material_ then their intended use.

I'm pretty sure u tested that wrong. Your suppose to set it up in another part of the house but still in range of your original router so it captures the wifi signal and then the repeater sends out its own signal extending the wifi range.

It’s not a WiFi extension it’s enables you to connect lan/Ethernet devices to it as a separate router; i.e. for your ps2
