Thank you for the promo code, I used it. You had me as soon as you discussed that small over-the-top correction because I have an identical quirk in that first move down. I gasped at the price until you reminded me that a new driver costs about the same, used maybe 12 times in a round of golf and certainly doesn't help my pulled shots with wedges..... You got all sensible on us, Andy and you didn't have to scream at us for 10 minutes like so many other videos from other sources. I really appreciate the new content approach, although this one reached into my wallet.... (well done, sir)

Hi Andy, I love your channel and even moreso your new direction with the videos. They're great so please keep them up! I have the Dewiz and it is a great device. I'm working on fixing my "too out to in" swing with it. I know you mentioned this to your viewers, but since your explanation came late in the video it's worth repeating...In order to be in accordance with USGA rules, Dewiz's "On-course mode" does NOT give you any data nor error stimuli during your round. What you're demonstrating in this video is using the "Practice and Learn" mode while playing a round. In "Practice and Learn" you can set parameters and the stimuli so that it buzzes you when you're out of your range, but you can't legally use that mode on the course. It is an awesome device and I'm glad you like it as much as I do!

@tezzlacoilz 6 месяцев назад
I am really glad you did a review on this! Thank you! One thing tho - i am sure you cannot legally use the stimuli/buzzing in a competitive round. But on practice rounds i reckon it would be unbelievable and that is what id be keen to get it for. On a comp round i think it just captures your swing data for post round review, much like arccos does. Thanks for all your great content

Yes, pretty much agree with everything you have said. I have had mine for 2 weeks and already the benefits are huge. Two areas in particular, my drives are going straight whereas before a tended to over draw / hook the ball. And my wedges are much better dialled in so that I am landing more balls within a few feet of the flag. I bought it with some sort of offer so it cost around £425.00, with delivery included. A lot but well worth it.

Andy great video, price is rich though in a sport that is already out of sight for some. I wouldn’t spend £500 on a driver and no way would I spend it on some tech. I’ll have to make do with a copy of the PGA Manual that I bought online for £3.80 to help me get better.

Another great video, Andy. Being a bit of a kit geek, I love the idea that you can get instant feedback from such an unobtrusive device and that you can analyse your swing after a practise session. £500 was a bit of a shock though. How long before someone marries this tech with GPS to combine everything you need in a wearable I wonder? The next Garmin?

Hi, Andy. I would consider this a better investment than a driver. Also, while watching, i had an idea for a weekly series for you. A simple video in how to use just one feature on a device like this. I say just one at a time because I, personally, get overwhelmed by over explanation. How to access, set and then use the feature in a simulator or outdoors. Thanks for the videos!

Andy, have watched a few videos on this aid, as it definitely appeals! It seems to me, that having another app to actually record the ball flight and distances is needed, such as Garmin R10 or Top Tracer at the range. But, if I only had my iPhone with me during practice and out on the course, do you feel that it’s still as beneficial? Keep up the great work btw!
@TheAverageGolfer
@TheAverageGolfer 6 месяцев назад
Could you explain what benefit would you expect to see from the video footage? Im not disagreeing btw just trying to understand your thinking
@Bassbaby838
@Bassbaby838 6 месяцев назад
@@TheAverageGolfer Andy, just really with the shot shape and distances. Obviously it’s brilliant for recording tempo, positive or negative transitions, swing length for pitching, but you’d need something else to record the actual distance and then shot shape. So if I go to the range just with my iPhone, I’d have to keep switching from Dewiz to another app to sync the actual shots in? Or am I getting that totally wrong? I’m genuinely interested in buying the Dewiz, I’m just trying to work out how it would benefit me most. Thanks for your prompt reply though.
@TheAverageGolfer
@TheAverageGolfer 6 месяцев назад
@@Bassbaby838 ok, so this was my process. I started with recording my standard swing and then after a number of shots looked at the app that is synced to the wristband and watched back my swings as you seen in the video, so I could see my transition and the device provided me with a measurement as to how far off plane my swing was and in my case an over the top transition. With this information a consciously attempted to change that path and after a number of shots revisit the app to understand my performance, very soon I was able to get my swing on a better plane. So for me it was working with the information provided and making those changes. At no point did I need to watch my swing via another device.

Great video! When using during a round, how do you know what was a practice swing and what was your real swing when you review the data at the end of the round?
@TheAverageGolfer
@TheAverageGolfer 6 месяцев назад
You don’t because it doesn’t differentiate between the two but in many ways it doesn’t matter because you want to measure all swings as your practice swing should replicate your actual swing

It’s not a gps watch. It’s measuring your swing and giving you feedback. It’s a practice aid that you can use to track your swing during a round but for me it’s more for practice than the latter.
@billyunair
@billyunair 6 месяцев назад
@@myopenmind527 Practice aids can be good. I just train on a forsite sports launch monitor. This watch may be useful to the experienced golfer that can take on more routines within a round. I'm not there yet. I've only played consistently for 2 years. I try and limit distractions. Maybe in the future after a cheap rangefinder.

Andy, love your videos…..but key to good golf is a variable golf swing. The best golfers constantly adapt their swing for any particular lie and desired shot shape. This is what the evidence tells us. Have a wee read of Pete Arnott’s book.

I think you need to be careful with this device, Andy. The one thing I’ve always liked about your swing over the years is how natural and repeatable it looks, flaws and all. Sounds like it’s providing way too much information which would almost certainly lead to “paralysis from analysis’ for me. Quite frankly I’d be surprised if you were still an advocate by the end of the year!
@TheAverageGolfer
@TheAverageGolfer 6 месяцев назад
I don’t agree Dave, it is far from providing too much information, I’d argue it’s quite the opposite. I would never look to make any wholesale changes to my swing, I’ve tried and failed but there is one element in my transition that really does separate my good and bad swings, this device helped massively with that, more so than any lesson in the past 20 years.

Unless your a complete geek, I think this is utterly useless to the normal club golfer. If your a Pro or play off a very low handicap then it may have some use. It's just another bit of tech that's by in large, an unnecessary expense. Sorry.
@TheAverageGolfer
@TheAverageGolfer 6 месяцев назад
I totally disagree, I am the very opposite to a golf geek and avoid gadgets, in fact I have never reviewed any other training aid on this channel. If you are a Pro or low handicap golfer many of these issues will not be relevant and will be very relevant to the normal club golfer. The tech is very simplistic but very effective and would benefit many.
@danboustead2438
@danboustead2438 4 месяца назад
Completely disagree, I think it's a great device although depends on how you prefer to learn. I am absolutely rubbish with 'feel', when I have lessons with a coach who puts me into positions so I can get the feel of where my swing would be I'm okay during the lesson but when I'm back to the range on my own I quickly forget. I prefer lessons on Trackman where I can see the data and this device is great as a tool to help keep me on track when I'm on my own. BTW I am very much a 'normal club golfer' however I'm one who wants to improve that this really does help me do that.
