i don't know why but you have the safest vibe. like you treat people well because of intrinsic experience, not outer appearance. watching your videos calms me
I'm on a Robert Welsh binge-week-month. In this time, when everything is changing drastically, you are saving my sanity and my soul. Thank you, dear. You are precious.
This is a great idea. Drugstore brands are my first preference and Amazon's reviews arrree.... dodgy, to say the least. I'm scared of buying from Amazon so this will be a great reference! ❤❤
Have had such a bad headache today that I've spent the last few hours sat in the bathroom because I felt like I was going to throw up from the pain and it's just settled down so was a nice treat to see you had just posted so I could wrap up in bed and watch this, finally relaxing :) 💜🖤
Legit question... If you have a "tacky" eye primer, isn't it difficult to blend your eyeshadow? I would think it would stick where you initially put it and be hard to blend out. 🤷🏻♀️
You add a base color and everything blends perfectly on top. for reference I use rimmel magnif' eyes, and I like to use a shade that's a little lighter than what I'm going for with the look and then just add more/darker color as I go 😊
If you have an issue with that you can cover the eye with a shadow that’s similar in tone to the clients skin tone and then you apply the actual eye look on top so everything can blend easily.
Thanks everybody. I have tried several primers. Some are tacky, some are not. Any time I've had a tacky one I've done like was mentioned, added a light dusting of base shade or translucent setting powder. I'm 54 though, so I really have to be careful of how much of anything I put on my lids. Lol. Oddly enough, I have not tried PLouise yet but will. I used to love ABH's primer. I do want to try the Sigma primer that Robert often uses. You seem to get a concealing effect with that primer. Which I definitely could use to cover up any lid discoloration. Especially when my allergies are acting up.
Amazon is finally coming to South Africa next year. Insane that it’s taken so long! Most of these are either unavailable, marked up ridiculously or parallel imports
And many of them will stay that way. Your range will be nothing like they get in the UK or US. You will be paying more for makeup in many instance than you can get in your local stores especially if they have sales on. Third party sellers resort to extortionate prices on things that are hard to get and there is what I can only describe as a disgraceful and painfully obvious fair tax. Examples: L'Oreal 4-in-1 balm that the Americans were going crazy over? Regular shades are about $45 (still very expensive), the fair shade is $102.80. Catrice HD foundation is $14.95 all shades (including tan/dark) but 005 Porcelain (a later introduced shade)? About $115. 05 Fair Maybelline Fit Me Powder is not in Australia, so they can charge about $45 (checked a week and a half ago) because they can, whereas Light and Medium and even Tan shades are $11.95. You'll be a captive market just like we are. Then there's the fakes. Be careful of third party sellers w/K-Beauty too even if there's "Amazon's Choice" plastered on it. I've gotten a fake CosRX before. They "Amazon's Choice" popular products, paying no attention to who they're putting up as the seller. They pick the cheapest price, leading people to think it's legit and it's fake. Ignore that feeling of safety it doesn't exist. Wherever you can, pay the extra and just get it direct from them. You'll still be stuck w/parallel imports a lot of the time and probably you'll be glad for it even with the extortionate prices because the big brands don't bother to carry the lightest shades in stores in Australia 90% of the time. Not even Sephora bothers in a lot of instances.
Another example? Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless? Light through to several dark shades (if you can believe it) are all $12.95 but Fair Porcelain is $40.
Can't even get lighter than 110 in a number of other Maybelline products. The one thing I like is that it gives me access sometimes to European shades because we actually get different shade depths and undertones than the US and Europe quite often because we're blanket considered "Asia". Vanilla, the lightest shade in a bunch of L'Oreal foundations is ridiculously dark and very yellow. It's also so difficult to work out the difference in numbers and shades and names too when you're listening to influencers you like and your shading system is totally different. Like just standardise it already.
I have to go to US site and pay high prices, $20 shipping, GST and also a currency conversion charge to get some of the hottest items and again, that's only if third party sellers will ship to your country much of the time. I just want NYX Nude Truffle Suede Lip Liner and we can't get it in Australia so it's like $26atm. OK so why don't I just buy Iconic Nude at that point it's like what, $31 for Charlotte Tilbury?
OMG Maybelline Luminous/Dewy and Smooth? Not on my radar as oily but I just looked at it? So like $12.95 for a selection of shades (not all, about 20 of the range, including 2 dark shades). 110 Porcelain, like the most basic of bare minimum light shades? $59.94 LMAO. I have to laugh else I'll get furious.
Sigh….like I needed this like I need a hole in my head….hang on while I finish ordering even more things from Amazon Prime! Some day I wouldn’t be surprised if a llama ends up on my doorstep 😂😂
I did have, but got hacked twice in a month! My bank doesn’t trust Amazon at all. They’re always being hacked. Source: Fraud team at the bank! It’s frustrating because I love it, but can’t cope with the security issues. 🥺
Same,I like the bronze rose colour one, lips eyes and cheeks,it's like an affordable version of bobbie browns putty brush bronze thing that was all over insta in the last year or so xx
Nothing more reassuring than hearing one of your favourite RU-vidrs say he's cut his mouth from eating pringles, when you are sat watching his video with a cut mouth from eating a whole tub of pringles and regretting your life choices 🤦♀️😂
I clicked on this video because I saw Haruharu on the thumbnail. You guys, I LOVEE their products. My favorite is their black rice toner, and I use it every single day. It has helped clear my skin up so much, and I even got my friends onto their products and they love them as well. Love your videos Robert and i'm glad to see you supporting the Haruharu brand. Keep doing what your doing. Thats all :)
@@MyTexanHeart I have combo skin. I tend to get really oily in some areas of my face and dry in others. I would say if you're worried, maybe start out with one product and see how you feel. 😄 I also live in a very humid place as well ( florida)
@jojomarch I'd say more hydrating. My skin has cleared up since using it, but I've also been using other things like cleansers and serums so I can't say 100% that it was just the toner
Robert! When are you going to learn, even if the eyeshadow palette your wearing has nothing to do with your video, we still want to know what you used. Please for the love of all that is holy in the Makeup Kingdom, please list in the description what palette you used. 🙏❤
Alright got some stuff to try then when I run out of my current products. I always try to use all the product before disposing of it and getting something new.
Some products I’m familiar with and some I’m not. Amazon can give it high reviews but I care more about Robert reviews 😊 LOVE the eye look and I’m glad the primer worked out. You got me hooked on the sigma primer (I have 3 diff shades but ignite is my fave) and I haven’t used anything else for probably 2 years lol or whenever you started raving about it. I love it! This was a fun video 🎉 Hope you have a great rest of your week 💜🖤 DEFINITELY checking out the face oil cleanser. I’ve been using an oil balm but been wanting to try an oil cleanser. This one doesn’t look like it stings the eyes
Wondering if you remember those 'rice infusion' pringles they did ? Cause those salt and vinegar ones should have come with a health warning for the lip burns hahaha brings back some memories 🤣🤣 ❤
Lol, I use the Elizabeth Mott primer and I really like it. I also found it via Amazon and was trying that plus a few others, and this was my fave. And yay Haruharu! I use their foaming cleanser and toner in the evenings and am eyeing up their oil cleanser as well for when I run out of my current one. I love an oil cleanser.
I like the look of the Technic highlighter and the Langmanni lip oils 💋 However the item that impressed me the most was the HaruHaru cleansing oil, and that shocked me as I'm never impressed with ads! Just goes to show how authentic Robert is with his partnerships as that stuff looks good 🤩
Love ❤️ ur voice! Omg 😲 it's extremely soothing 😌, relaxing 😌. On nights 🌙 I can't sleep 😕 I'll put on ur Videos & slowly drift off to sleep 😴 🫶❣️🤟❤️🔥
I have and enjoy that eye primer! It works really well if your lids tend to get oily throughout the day. If you have trouble with blending on top of a tackier primer, try a light dusting of translucent powder or an eyeshadow that's close to your skintone.
Collection was previously called Collection 2000. I was amazed to find they'd been going for 35 years! It was a very popular range for teenagers and the broke. I still occasionally buy eye pencils from them.
That was useful. I think you should do another one. The palette. Maybe brushes. Ik you don't do lipstick, but it would be fun to see what you think of top rated lipstick.
I used to get that one and always really liked it (even the scent). Currently I use Physicians Formula Rosé All Day highlighter and I looooove it so much!
Robert i love this video!!!! Haruharu products are so good! Please can you do a tutorial of this eye look though and what you used because it is to die for! Im also buying those lip oils and powder based off your review ❤
Robert, honey, i would like to say a few things. First of all, your new hair is gorgeous. I am in LOVE how your hair is right now, i remeber the first video you uploaded with this hairstyle and i verbally gasped. This suits you soo much. Also, idk how you do it (ofcourse i do i mean you are a legit MUA) but you NAIL the eyeshadow look like its nothing serious. I started doing my makeup in 2019 and we all know the years that followed after wasn't really makeup friendly so i stopped. I don't really know how to do mine but i honestly enjoy watching your content and educating myself. The eyeshadow looks that you do is probably one of the most complicated and clean looks that i have seen and i find it so hard to achieve but you always do it like its nothing crazy. Adore your skill ❤ Sending love from India 🇮🇳
I would love to see you have people with different eye shapes come on your channel so you could show how you would do their eye makeup as a MUA. I struggle since my eyes are down turned and hooded.
Robert I absolutely adore U,seriously I really do🤗✨.U’re just Authentic&Real which is oh so comforting, especially when U think about all the other mess out there💜💜
You are blushing Robert you’re amazing! I’m your mothers age and my makeup game has gotten so much better with you! My skin, OMG James has improved my skin Ten fold!
I just restarted my Amazon prime subscription so this video couldn’t have come at a better time. Also, when did Robert hit 1M subs?? Idk how I missed it. That’s so awesome!!
The eyeshadow is so vivid! Did he mention the palette or the brand and I just missed it? Whenever RU-vidrs don't mention a specific makeup product that looks great I always wonder if it's an upcoming collab 😅
I tried this but the reviews were so mixed and confusing it made me anxious. Like knowing what’s actually genuine and safe and sealed. Then again I’ve had problems buying mascara in store lately so maybe should try, twice I’ve been to Sdrg and the new sealed mascara has been dry as a bone 😢
Hello! Love love love you and your brothers videos!! I would love if you can evaluate and talk about Il Makiage makeup and if they use filters on their video ads!!? I’m 61 and want to try it but i want to know if it’s worth the money! If you could give your expert opinion, i and i think others would be really interested!! Thank you love! ❤
I looove this kind of video! Technic is pretty popular here in Spain. It’s very cheap but they have some really good things. They make mostly dupes but they’re pretty decent. Thank you, Robert!
CW for people who get grossed out by eye talk: Do you have any makeup tips for people with really watery eyes? I’ve had problems with my tear ducts on my right eye my whole life. I’ve had two operations on my lower duct (one when I was a baby and another when I was 15), but over the past 6-7 years I’ve been having problems with my upper tear duct. I was last seen by a specialist about 3 years ago who said it was too risky to operate and that he would refer me to another specialist, but when I asked my GP to check a few months ago, I found out the referral had never been made so they’ve had to start the referral practice from scratch again which will take years. My right eye is constantly streaming, and I can’t put makeup near the inner corners of my eyes as this condition makes me prone to eye infections. I used to wear Ardell wispies, but I can’t any more as even before I started getting infections they would never stay on my right eye! I only use waterproof mascara, and I use Urban Decay eye primer potion. I know you’re not a fan, but it doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes unlike some of the more tacky primers. Also I’m 40, so I try to avoid products that will settle into my eye creases and age me. Sorry for the essay or for over sharing, but it’s really bothering me! I have to keep re-applying my makeup on my right eye whilst my left eye makeup stays put. It gets worse in winter (just yesterday I got yet another unsolicited “why are you crying? What happened?” from a stranger. 🙄) Are there any products or tips you would recommend?
oil cleansers are seriously a live safer. especially if you have waterproof mascara. once my oil cleanser is done i will for sure try the haru haru one. btw haru means day so its literally translated day day. probably meant like day to day 🤗
