How Farms Work is a RU-vid channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. Our videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and GMO crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.

I remember taking trees out with our articulated 8430 and taking out smaller trees with our 4010. I restored our 4010 and it had a 4020 engine put in it.

One of these years you'll need to buy a well-used logging bulldozer for grading and pushing back the trees and brush.

If last (2017) spring's tree hauling was "treesel " plowing, this must be the deep ripper version. That tree was huge! Thank you for the video, as always. It looks like you really have your work cut out for you in the Big Pasture. The storm last night was bad, especially in the Des Moines area.

Hope you guys are okay from yesterdays storms! Thought about you guys during the high winds! Many limbs blew down here! We had our birch tree blown down(was already dry rotting)! Hope you guys didn't have too much wind damage either!

If you hook the chain to the three point arms you might have been able to lift the root ball out of the mud. Its worked for me before. Nice video!!

Nice one job always leads to more. Imop if you used the quick 3 point on the back of the 7600 you could have chained to top hook picked the root ball might have been easier. Be safe keep stuff coming.

That storm was a big one. Two inches in a hour here in Winona Minnesota. We had a Tornado yesterday in lewiston Minnesota.

Bill Holmgren that's where our Telehandler and x-form dung grab come in handy, though the last one I moved fell across a road during a storm and got a "Why the hell you cut a tree down now for" from a woman in a car. Our neighbours wife stood at the bottom to stop traffic and with the handler running against the steep banks up either side of the road one she stopped was positive she could get round it didn't seem to grasp that even if she managed a wall of death overtake there was still the tree and the county highways van blocking the road.
