Looking forward to your Sparmax review. I had a Sparmax GP-35 and liked it. Sprayed very nicely. Was a little bit of a pain to clean being a side feed, you had to get the tube between the cup and body cleared out which took just a little longer. I passed it on to some friends that could use a decent airbrush but couldn't afford to buy one.

Master is what I often recommend for entry level brushes to see if it is something people want to try, but aren't sure airbrushing is something they want to really work on.

Micro Mark sells the Tamiya trigger airbrush, around $300. The QD couplings are great if you have 2 or more spray guns. Also if you have different brands of hoses the thread size is not the same from Paasche, Badger, Grex & Chinese hoses. QD male couplings sort of standardizes hoses to fit all guns. The only hassle is finding the male coupling to fit your guns.

I wonder if it's my usage method or paint. Also a beginner pov. But I had Issues with the 0.8 needle especially in terms of flow. Could have been alot of variables but my 0.5 worked out much better in coverage and flow. Thank you for the review as I have purchased this recently and this has given me more comfort with the purchase.

The only jar that did not leak in my orders, was the neon red. The worst offender was the purple, it's noticeably lower than the others when you line them up, but there's still 75% at least in it, so I'm not worried about it. As a panel liner for some miniatures, it'll still last forever. This airbrush might be a nice addition to the collection, always on the lookout for more trigger type airbrushes, they're just easier on my hands to use.

Love your videos as always. Bought a Trigger type are brush recently, a Creos .5mm, with a fan cap, it's a beast, man does it cover car bodies like whow. Very interest in any type of trigger airbrush.

I had a couple of Master Brushes (not this model),, and they worked fine for about 3 months, then the "O" rings and the internal seals began to fail. So, it is the longevity of these brushes that is the issue for me.

yes they have no life expectancy! much more worth it to spend a little more and get something better that will last so much longer and work better with less maintenance

I'm glad you tested this and like it the company that makes these types global has a kit underthe masterbrand on Amazon that is this brush with a tanked 1/5 hp compressor for $189 and I think it will be my first airbrush set that I buy

Thanks! I was wondering when someone would test this one out. They have one without the mac valve too I think. If you have your compressor close or a gauge on your work bench what would you need it for? Thanks again. I bought one of these 2 months ago. The regular type is getting hard for me. I’m losing strength in my arms. I plan to get a grex but didn’t want to spend that much money if I didn’t like it. It’s nice, much better than the first Master Airbrush I bought about 15 years ago. I like the middle size needle. I shot primer and base & candy. I’ll probably get the Grex or Iwata and use this for primer and sealer on my car models.

Hmmm....I have been wanting to get a "paint gun" airbrush and have been considering a Grex. But I really don't need anything too fancy, just the ability to smoothly lay down primer/base coat on large models. Gearing up to do some LARGE Star Wars ships (3ft long Falcon for one). $70 for the Master Vs $150+ for Grex seems like a no-brainer. Thanks for the review!

i had the master airbrush g79 and i thought it was amazing for my first airbrush but fast forward a few months and nearly every piece on it broke and i ended up wasting so much money trying to replace parts and keep it running. i just said fuck it and bit the bullet a bit for an upgrade to a gsi creos ps 290 trigger type from spraygunner, i used your code btw thanks for that discount it was helpful fr, and i am blown away with how much better built the ps290 is built. seriously take it from someone who has bought it and tried to use it basically daily, its so much more cost efficient to just spend like 30 more bucks and get the ps290 bc i wasted so much money trying to keep the master airbrush pos working it made no sense. also master airbrush was missing parts and their customer service people were not helpful they caught an attitude with me and tried to make me out as a liar when at the time i was their biggest unofficial spokesperson so they really ticked me off. moral of the story: spend a little more and get an airbrush from japan like the ps290 if you want a trigger type bc its just insane how much more quality you get for a few more bucks and the little differences add up over time. im very satisfied with the ps290 and it works wonders with every paint i throw at it.

I have a master SB 844 that I got with the compressor and it doesn't spray at all I took it apart and I believe the needle packing nut is missing because I look through the brush and there's a bigger hole as opposed to my other brushes and paint runs to the back of the brush. I will ask you a question on patreon.

All stainless steel will show up black when being polished... It's the tiny particles of stainless steel oxidising.. You could take the worlds most expensive needle in the world, polish it for 7 days and 7 nights, clean it with acetone and you'd still get blackening if you polish it immediately after.

I just got one of these. It's not the master one it's xdovet but the generic Chinese one's are all the same in my experience. Xdovet on Amazon actually has exact copies just in the regular knock off iwata type body's of the neo eco and the gahleri airbrushes. Only difference is the gahleri one has .38 the xdovet has the .3 or .35 both have another size converter set also. That's not why I commented though just thought maybe you'd be interested in checking them out as you do all these reviews and have the neo eco and gahleri brushes to compare them too. I'm having a issue with the brush (one in video) bubbling and air just stays on unless I loosen the nut inside the handle. It came with the bottom handle nut barely holding the handle on. I've never had much luck with the floating nozzles use to have bunch of badger have sold off all but one 360 and renegade now because of it. What's the trick with getting the floating nozzles to work good. I used bee's wax on it made sure wasn't blocking air holes then hand tightened the nozzle caps on. Any insite would be great.

I picked up one of these to try out and overall I like it. But Master hasn't got any parts for them, and no info on when they'll be getting any. The wrench has made a bit of a mess of my end cap, and I'd like to replace the .05 needle and adapter for it. So I'll have to run down alternates. I see some other airbrushes on Amazon that look identical for less money, so I may pick one up for parts if nothing else.

I'm super interested in that Diamond Clear. I tried some of the Majik "lacquer" clear from Tractor supply. Sprayed beautifully, leveled beautifully, amazing shine, however 4mnths later and its still soft. What a let down it ended up being.

I airbrushed some of the KBS Diamond in my garage. Got great results BUT!!!!! Use it in a very well ventilated area!!! I thought my little airbrush booth would have been fine but I had a "mist/fog" floating in the air of my garage when I was done. I had to open the garage door and back door to let it air out. That experience kind of put me off spraying it again but I did get great results.

Well timed test Robert. I have one of these on order to compliment my Iwata TRN-1 which only has a .3mm needle. I wanted a trigger type airbrush with the larger needles and this seemed to fit the bill. I'm picking it up at the border on Saturday. So after this test I'm pretty confident it will do anything I want it to. Now how about a link to the metal polish you used to clean and smooth the needles. Thanks again for such a helpful video.

Any metal polish will work for the needle. It doesn't at all have to be Flitz.

I use Nevr Dull Wadding polish I picked up at Walmart on these cheap needles. It's easy to use and works great. Rip out a piece wadding, polish up the needle and throw it out when your done.

I've seen most of your vids testing out paints (shift, metallic...) and due to the fact many of them where already months old, I did not comment. I would like to see what some of these (shift, candy, iridescent) paints, look over clear (and colored clear) parts. I did a green color shift paint on some Gundam green clear parts, and it looks like the are charging with "energy".

I'm at a point in my life where I've tried most everything else except air brushing. I am a woodworker doing mostly small stuff on my scroll saws. I only want to buy one air brush and one compressor and neither of them need to be top of the line. I'm cheap to say the least by not Harbor Freight cheap. Although I have a lot of their stuff. I'm thinking of this air brush kit that you are testing here but I don't know which compressor to buy. I want something that is as quiet as possible without breaking the bank. Can you suggest which one to buy and what to make sure of when buying it? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm 79 years old so life expectancy is not a huge thing. Whatever I buy will more than likely outlive me. Thanks for your help. And also thanks for all the great videos and information you have provided. Great stuff.

Hi, looks like an interesting airbrush, but you say it doesn't atomize great. What do you see wrong? Have you also tried the G33? I think it's the same but with a button. Also after you polish the needles with Flitz (to see if I find it for sale in Europe) are there no residues that can react with the paints? Thank you.

The Flitz doesn't leave any residue at all. I highly recommend it. It's hard to see on camera the paint being atomized. It's just a heavier particle then other airbrushes. I did recently test another trigger type airbrush similar to this one and in my opinion is a lot better. It's the Gaahleri airbrush. My wife has 100% Acetone Pure Acetone used for removing Nail Polish or should it be A Higher/Stronger Grade. QUESTIONS FOR MY PROJECT **CONTEXT** - I'm wanting to repaint a Sword Replica of the "Master Sword" from “The Legend of Zelda” franchise. - I’m gonna try my best to describe it the best I can as it’s something much easier to explain if I were able to post images and links. - The repaint will be based of the "Twilight Princess" Variant which the closest colors I could find for this are: • Primary Color: Wicked Colors 0307 Pearl Plum • Secondary Color: Wicked Colors 0373 Metallic Actress Gold --------------- **Sword Parts and Materials** • Pommel: Alloy Steel • Handle: ABS Plastic • Top & Bottom Handle Pieces: Alloy Steel • Guard: ABS Plastic (Biggest and most Complex Part) • Blade: 440 Stainless Steel --------------- I Sand Blasted the original paint which left the base material color for the: • Handle/Guard: "Turquoise Blue" • Pomel: "Alloy Steel (Metal Color)" • Top&Bottom Handle Pieces: "Alloy Steel (Metal Color)" **Questions 2** - For the Turquoise Blue parts do I need to Airbrush a white Coat 1st and then apply Pearl Plum or no need for white? **Question 3** - The Allow Steel parts are smooth and have no type of texture for Paint to catch on so how should I go about painting them? People poo poo Master because it is cheap, and If you are a professional then this Master isn't a brand for you, but for a casual user that may pick up an airbrush just a few times a month then these are great. I have used a Master for a few years now for priming and a zenithal highlight. Do I need a $300 top of the line airbrush for this job a few times a month? No but at least I have an airbrush that can do the job I need when I need it. These are great workhorses, after a little work to get them up to par (cleaning the needle, lubrication, and quick releases). I am not a fan of the trigger but I still like Master for quality and cost for what I need.
